Piccadilly Line UpdateOf late I've been quite busy with other commitments, and as such have had little time to devote to improving and extending the Piccadilly. However, there has been some progress; the line has been extended backwards to Baron's Court. This section has been almost fully signalled, curves and gradients applied and some preliminary scenery. A couple of outdoor signals and more complex scenery is required on this section to complete.Meanwhile, the middle section has seen a couple of changes - accurate looking T boards have been included, and the flashing speed limit warning lights are on the "To Do" list. King's Cross Junction has been the subject of a few tweaks, too.Going north from King's Cross, we soon pass the disused York Road station. Here we see the old signal cabin area at the northern end of the former platform. The detail here is deliberately not fine and exhaustive, as you're likely to sail past at 45mph! Work to do here includes the southern end of the platform (behind camera, out of view) where there are a few boxes and piles of junk (ballast by the looks of it) stored. In the picture, the crossover is still to be inserted just after the station end (around the end of the curvature).Track, gradients and signals are laid out up to Finsbury Park and the stations are now in the process of being detailed. Here's Finsbury Park.Although I do stress that the shots are very much "work in progress" and many things are missing. Note the station name board which is now a seperate texture - a better 3d effect is acheived and a better quality of lettering can be seen. The crossover is in place at Finsbury Park, too. This is unique in that it connects with the Victoria Line, not the Southbound Picc. I hope to release the Baron's Court to Finsbury Park section sometime this Spring, and hopefully the line all the way to Arnos Grove by the Autumn. Then, I will extend forwards to Cockfosters, backwards to Hammersmith and Acton Town, and then work back down either the Uxbridge or Heathrow branch. At the moment it looks very much to be the former, it's a long way in the future to be deciding for definite!Comments and constructive criticism are, as always, welcome.Tom-- Tom Beevers http://brj.rr.nu
It looks really excellent Tom. Routes of this quality do take a huge amount of time to reach a public release. I'm not going to be saying "I can't wait for this one", but I sure am saying that I look forward to it's release with "optomistic enthusiasm." It's lush.Tony H Midlands 25Kv
Wow Tom that looks gd I really am looking foward 2 the route in fact I have been for a while keep up the gd work Is the 1973 ts still being made for the route as well?
Now, this defintely looks better than the previous versions. But the photorealistic part of the Finsbury Park exit looks odd.
-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!----- Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it. Eh, where did my signature go? Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it. Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)! It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet. Anyway, I warned you not to waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
I feel ill. Phil hasn't found any major problems with it!!!!Do you mean it looks odd when put next to a hand-drawn texture, or something else?Seriously, thanks for the comments .-- Tom Beevers http://tombeevers2000.free-hosting.org.uk/piccadillybve/
>Do you mean it looks odd when put next to a hand-drawn >texture, or something else? I mean it looks odd like the side of the exit doesn't match the front of the exit.
