BVE Isn't dying , Developing is! – image 1

Ok , seeing as there are many posts about things that turn into a moan about BVE , I thought I'd give my opinion. In regards to people saying BVE is dying off , far from it. If anything , its the development in the UK. People wonder why development has gone downhill. Well , the fighting won't help. It puts people off that develop. I mean , come on , a bit of constructive critisism is acceptable but not going on that people don't make work to their own specification. Someone says a train isn't realistic , I mean the person may be from the south of England when the unit say is a scottish one. That theory goes for routes to. I mean if you've been on the train or been along the route then yeah , bit of critisism then it'll be accepted. Not been on the train/route then it would be nice for people not to comment on. I know it may sound like a rant but this is my opinion and I feel that this is the way that BVE is going. Its nothing to do with the program , its the development. Word of advice to the critisisers , Lay off the Critising. BVE In Scotland - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.milmine/Index.html

Yes. Some people can be quite nasty. It takes a lot of coding/time to produce good routes/objects and initially I was put off by this so I end up rushing through it all and producing not so good routes.

Yes, you're right. But, as long I can remember, it seems to be a rule in BVE Forums. There is always somebody to criticize a lot the tiny little difference from what he think to be the "GOOD" way to create something in BVE.
And it's nearly always people from England.... That only a report...All the best.

That is true - having spent over 6 months working tirelessly to perfect Piccadilly Line v5 and aviod performance problems which dogged previous versions I received several snotty messages telling me how x station looked wrong, how y curve wasn't right even though the radius was calculated from maps and it looks fine against a driver's eye view... and not one message of thanks. Very motivating .--

This is the first time I react on a topic like this, since I am not a route developer. I think that the routes currently available are great, whether fictional or real. I like it when developers like Tom Beevers produce a route as real as possible. I certainly enjoy driving them: ultimately that is were it is all about.Give route developers constructive feedback, not criticize their work into the ground: they spend lots of time on it, not you!
And: GROW UP!! It is human work! Be glad that there still are people who can/want to spent lots of time on developing a route. And it is their work.
Greetings,Peter
ps. If you think station X on route Y is totally wrong: try making it from scrap yourself. Let us see how it should be instead of complaining over and over.

Here's a special "Thank-You" to you, Tom. I have a special fondness for your Piccy line, since the first BVE route I drove was your Picc version 2Chris

I haven't been using BVE that long and haven't even attempted to make a route yet! I'm still in awe of all the routes that have already been made! One thing that I have noticed is that EVERY time this Nathan character "leaves" the community he seems to bring everyone else down with him.All I can say to Tom and everyone else who codes these routes is keep up the excellent work and a big THANK YOU!!Andy
