As I know the RailDriver gets info from the screen. Now we have that on BVE4.I found some RailDriver related posts but they are from 2003. Does anyone know the RailDriver BVE driver status?

RE: BVE4 and RailDriver

I suspect it could be made to work in the same way it does with MSTS. Thr Rail Driver software reads a given part of the screen and does some type of text or pattern matching and then controls the train from that. Since BVE 4 can place information on the screen about the train status, and perhaps with the plug in be made to put more information, then the folks at Rail Driver could add BVE capacity to the program. An alternaive, if the plugin can be made to put the same inforamtion in the same place that MSTS puts its information, then maybe the conversion could be simpler.
I guess we need to wait and see what happens over time.

RE: BVE4 and RailDriver

I asked them and the response was very quick. Nice to know that RailDriver people take care about BVE.
Ferdi,Thank you for the email, BVE4 is still a beta release, as soon as Mr Mackoy releases a full version for release 4 then we can look at getting the RD to run with BVE, we need to plug into the game which is not as easy as you might think since we will need to look at what support for external control there is before we can decide on ho we will work with BVE.We are trying to avoid getting into using the Heads Up Display information that we use for MSTS since this carries it own unique set of problems, needless to say we will look into running with BVE as soon as we can.Best RegardsTim Court

RE: BVE4 and RailDriver

Just out of interest has anyone built their own controller for BVE? Im thinking of trying to make a controller like RailDriver but a lot simpler with realistic controls for UK trains and just wondered whether anyone else had made one or nows how to.Ive had a look on the internet and found a few sites with projects a bit similar but nothing exactly for what I want.Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.Edmund
