It's been a long time since doing an install, but a stolen laptop (after it was accidentally left on an Amtrak train, of all places) has forced me to rebuild my BVE install from scratch. Last time I checked, I was running 2.5x. I made the move to 2.6 just now (downloading as I type this) and I'll leave V4.x for later as it appears to have some issues. I've been out of the loop for quite awhile, and may have missed a few developments, namely, does one still have to download a seperate Uchibo route and train to get 2.6 started? I heard there were some updates to the route but I didn't catch what version they were tied to (if any). And, at what version do I start needing the .NET add-on?I had to get the newer RouteBuilder (1.2.x) I think), but I don't recall if Track Viewer was updated. According to a 'sources' file I use to keep track of my downloaded add-ons, the last D/L was midway through December 2003, so I have some catching up to do.---PCJ

RE: Rebuilding my Installation

Hey, this is worthy of my 100th post!! Anyway, to the point...AFAIK, you dont need the Uchibo route/train for BVE to work, as long as you have the objects/route.train, for the route you are trying to load. Some routes do call upon objects from the Uchibo installation, so it may be neccessary to download it later. I have a large number of routes, but the only Uchibo I have is the one for BVE4. This is the one with all the new features that BVE4 offers. You do not need .net framework for 2.6, only version 3 and above (V3 has now been scrapped by Mackoy).I can speak for trackviewer, but being a small program, I would suugest downloading again anyway.HTH

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
