Have the latest version of BVE 4 Beta. Installed .net v2 beta on my laptop, a Centrino 1.6Ghz with 512Mb RAM and 64Mb GeForce 4 Graphics. At loading of the routes, say Uchibo, BVE have encountered an exception error message and closed the program. The message says "An unhandled exception has occured in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue." This is followed by "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Can anybody advise what should I do, please? Regards Hongjian
This is a problem, if you have not changed the settings for windows to the british language code. After changing this settings it must work without any problems.greatings Martin Finken http://BVE-Train.de
<<This is a problem, if you have not changed the settings for windows to the british language code. After changing this settings it must work without any problems.>>Not worked for me. It seems BVE 4 only works well with .CSV files, I'm always having this problem when I try to load any .RW file, no way. Regards,(Visit my VIDEOS page)
BVE only works with CSV-routes, it won't load RW-routes. A solution for that is to process the route through BRR although errors still may occur, so it is not "the" solution. As for the orginal question, BVE 4.0 beta and the Beta version of .net 2.0 could well be the problem. I guess its better to stick to latest normal version of .net wich is version 1.1 i believe.
Afternoon to allThanks for the advice on the .Net framework. The problem indeed lies on the .net Framework. After downgrading from ver 2 beta to 1.1, Uchibo line works well.Unfortunately, I have encountered difficulties with the U1 and the Rack railway. Instead of seeing the route on the cab window, I saw only a blue screen. Any advice regarding, please? Myself is also unsure of the keys to activate the in-cab signalling, ATS system and the stopping marker as seen in previous versions of BVE. Has anyone have any idea regarding, please?Regards Hongjian
The problem with the blue screen was a bug with the first BVE-Beta. With the newest Beta Version this problem must be fixed.greatings Martin Finken http://BVE-Train.de
HiI downloaded the latest beta (at my parent's house) and found the blue screen bug still existed on some routes such as the Bakerloo. Having said that, my parent's computer cannot really cope with BVE4 at all.CheersPaul
Thanks to Martin for the news that there is a new Beta release for BVE 4that could solve the blue screen problem. I will download the new beta and try operating the routes.Wonder if anyone know the keys to display the ATS system, the timetable, in-cab signalling and the stop marker in BVE 4, please.
