I tried downloading the 1995 stock for BVE4 which I found in an earlier post, but the link didn't work. I also tried all of the Northern Line v3 Route files, but those didn't work either. If anyone can give me a solution to this, I'd greatly appreciate it.
HiBVE 4 is a little fussy about the format of route files (it's a beta version, after all) and unfortunately, some of the routes which worked well under 2.x won't load directly. However, the good news is that if you load them using BRR, most of them work fine - I've just loaded and started up one of the Northern Line routes this way to check it.Also, make sure you're using the latest beta: bve4.0.1670.4801 at the moment.I'm not aware of a version of the 95 stock for BVE 4 - the original at trainsimcentral should be OK.Hope this helps Simon
Hi Simon, I'm also a bit fuzzy ( sorry...fussy ) . Could you please explain to me what BRR is, and how do a person use it? I would certainly try to make the Italian route work in BVE4. Thanks in advance, Johan.
Hi JohanBRR is the BVE Route Randomiser: you can download it from koti.mbnet.fi/lopomo/trainsoft. It comes with a fairly detailed HTML manual that tells you about what it can do.Once you've installed it, you need to configure it to work with BVE 4. Click the 'Menu' menu and select 'Configure'. Enter the name of the folder that contains BVE 4 in the box marked 'BVE folder'. 'Route folder' and 'Train folder' should be set to your existing BVE routes and trains. Click 'Save' to save the configuration! Now you can select your route and a train to run on it, then click the 'Select' button and 'Start BVE' in the dialog box. Some routes that won't load directly into BVE 4 can be loaded this way. This is because BVE 4 is fussier about the layout of the route code than earlier versions were and doesn't like the way some authors lay out their code. BRR writes the route you have selected to a temporary file in a format BVE 4 can read and then loads the temporary file into BVE.Hope this helps Simon
