I have been reading several Route files over the past months, trying to learn how to make up my own Route. I have found many 'helps'.
One piece of code has eluded me so far though. What does .Turn do?
Pete.

RE: .TURN

Hi Pete,The .turn command moves Track 0 a certain amount to the left or right. It's particularly useful for crossings and switches but, for some reason, it doesn't seem to be a very well used command. It differs from the .curve command in the way that it is calculated and the way that a train behaves. Driving a .turn command, you will notice that the train travels straight, makes a sudden turn and then continues straight again (XCity uses this to join the mainline on leaving Barnt Green).More information, syntax and calculations are available in a previous thread which can be found here: http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID17/749.htmlHTHTechnical Numpty

RE: .TURN

Thanks, TNIs there a good resume of the CSV commands. I did find one last year by Tim Corbett. It is a great help but lacks some detail and in some cases it does not explain how the commands work. For example, I am having great trouble getting Poles to work properly!Any Help greatly apprecialted.Pete.

it's quite useful when switching through tight turnouts, as it helps eliminate gaps in the scenery instead of using the curve command.

RE: .TURN

Yes it certainly helps, BUT I now have a problem with the POLEs. I don't seem to be able to stop them! .poleend does not always work, and sometines it just cuts out one pole and then restarts and refuses to be 'ended' thereafter. Any suggestions - I think it may be a problem as I note that most people use 'freeobj's' for the poles! But I would like to know if there is a solution!Pete
