RE: TPWS

Zane,This extract is from a file that I got from Steve Green, which basically explains how to use the AWS working by using the .TR or @TR commands in route coding.AWS ROUTE MODS:
When coding the route you need to know what aspect signals are going to be when someone drives the route. It is for these reasons that the working AWS is not really suitable for random signalling or the 'delays' type of route.
For GREEN signals, place at 140m before the signal a .announce or @announce command to refer to a clear AWS bing or bell sound, placed in the sound folder, eg .Announce Bham_X-City_Sounds\323_AWS_horn.wav, or .@Announce(Bham_X-City_Sounds\323_AWS_horn.wav)
For YELLOW & DOUBLE YELLOW signals. place this command 150m before a signal: .Tr 0,0, or @Tr(0,0) (CSV and RW route file types)
Then place this at 148 m before the signal: .Tr 3,0, or @Tr(3,0)
For RED signals, place this command 150m before the signal: .Tr 0,1 or @Tr(0,1)
And at 148m before the signal: .Tr 3,1, or @Tr(3,1) The code for red signals is different because otherwise the AWS will not cancel without going back to the Bells and many keypresses of the Japanese ATS/P system. Although Steve mentions the distance for the .TR commands is 150m and 148m, you don't need to use these distances, as along as you leave a 2m gap between the 2 .tr commands ie 300 meters before the signal, then 298 meters before the signal. As for TPWS, I don't think it will work on BVE, as it is mainly a Japanese train simulator using Japanese signalling conditions.Hope that helps.Sacha

RE: TPWS

If i remember rightly, there is a kind of working TPWS on the Northern line which is activated when passing a red signal with .tr 4, (not sure of the rw equivilent). after playing around with this, i found this is only useful for 2 aspect signals as it will stop the train if going through a double yellow or single yellow.Derek kaye
