Hi AllHope this works, haven't tried posting an image in here before, so apologies if it doesn't.Sitting here tonight working on my route I decided to see what this would look like. I have no intention of using it in my project, so far, but if I do I will seeek permission before I do.<http://www.freewebs.com/fger/>

RE: Experiment

Its the livery for the new East Anglian franchise, they called it the one group as in one.anglia, one.greateastern.They have already been nicknamed the Rainbow train. They started the franchise yeaterday with a service from Liverpool Street to Norwich.RegardsDerek<http://www.freewebs.com/fger/>

RE: Experiment

Hi Fella!!Nice object, but please tell me that this is just an interim livery until they come up with something nicer. That is seriously horrible. Primer grey with ill-matching stripes...? No, no, no, no, no.Bring back Anglia green.Technical Numpty

Hi Damon,Thanks for that.Doesn't change my opinion of the livery and, living on the onewestanglia route (eh...?), I'm going to be seeing an awful lot of it. I actually think it's worse than the purple that WAGN Railway were using on it's 315's and 317/1's (you don't know how much regular users are going to miss calling it "We Are Going Nowhere Railway").FGER - No great loss there, as they're just exchanging one grey livery for another. Won't make any difference to the Desiro's. You can't polish a turd after all.WAGN - It's about time someone made their mind up about their livery. Between the grey or purple 315's, purple or "green-lined" NSE 317/1's, pseudo-"tube-stock" 317/2's and the rather nice metallic blue of the Stansted Express 317's we never knew whether we had one TOC or five...!! Shame we're going to lose that blue, though.Anglia Railways - For crying out loud, keep the trains in green!! It is the classiest, least fussy livery out there and well suited Anglia Railways reputation of quietly getting on with providing a top-notch service for all it's consumers. It's going to look seriously nasty on their Turbostars too.At least they've given the route some new stock. Oh sorry, my mistake. It's yet more WCML cast off's. 15 year old "Skodas" and DVT's and 25 year old Mk3 stock.TN
Look at it. Face only a mother could love.

It's like someone let a small child loose near some Mk3s with some blunt crayons. I thought it was an april fool..Sad to see the cans go too, much more character than the Skodas in my opinion.>At least they've given the route some new stock. Oh sorry,

Age doesn't make them unsuitable, only the pathetic maintainance they've recieved at the hands of West Coast Traincare. Regardless, I wish we got them staying on Virgin West Coast so that I don't have to suffer travelling on the awful Pendolinos. >Traincare.Indeed, and it's an improvement over the outgoing Mk2 stock that has been soldiering on since cascade from the WCML sometime in the late 70's or early 80's (due, might I add, to the introduction of the coaching stock that is now "new" on the Liverpool Street run).My problem is that the East Anglian mainline is yet again the poor relation getting everyone else's hand-me-downs. Probably the last time the line had brand new stock was when Stratford had an allocation of EE Type 4's (Class 40's to those brought up on TOPS), but I'm not even sure of that. The last new stock I can be sure of are BR Britannia Class steam locos...!! I'm also fairly sure that the line out as far as Shenfield has some of the UK's oldest extant OHLE. When are they going to spend some money on this route?>Regardless, I wish we got them staying on Virgin

RE: Experiment

I think everybody thought it was an April fool, but it isn't.I haven't had the chance to see any of this stock in the flesh yet, so I will reserve judgement on it until then.In the meantime, as I am trying to produce a First...sorry One Great Eastern route, I will have to consider using the new livery for that extra touch of realism. Here is a brief look at what my attempt at the newly liveried 321 looks like.

RE: Experiment

What gets my back up with this sort of "image change" is that there is a company somewhere out there that has charged the TOC a LOT of do$h for coming up with this ridiculous colour scheme. Then, there is another guy, who gets paid even more do$h who ACCEPTS it. I would be amazed if any one of them had a drop of railway blood in their bodies. If they have, then they should be ashamed. I would fire the lot and give the job to a serious BVE enthusiast. He would probably come up with a great colour scheme without any problem. The money could have been better spent on more suitable stock.'You sure this ain't an April fool?Tony H

First?

Experiment – image 12

Bit of an off-topic question. What is First? Is it some sort of Transportation Company? I've been seeing it alot more "Across The Pond". Philadelphia Airport's Busses now have a rather large/unsightly logo that says, "First Bus" on the front corner. Thanks in advance.

Stand clear of the biting doors.

Fastbuck... err I mean Firstbus are a huge empire of bus and train operations... they aren't that highly regarded and that's a reason why they have the nickname Fastbuck from me . The only thing that comes "First" is their profit!--

RE: First?

its definately not first. I have the honour here in Portsmouth to have the bus company First Hampshire. They seem to find it easily acceptable to charge £39 for a months travel in Portsmouth (which for those of you who dont know its an island about 6 miles by 4) its ridiculous!!

>http://tombeevers2000.free-hosting.org.uk/piccadillybve/ Tom your obnoxious and ridiculous comments never cease to amaze me. The First group are indeed a great company. Their Great Western railway franchise in particular, ran to a strict timetable and put up with accidents and other unfortunate operating problems, and yet they have always pulled through to high standards. I think you should do a little research before you make silly comments like this!--

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

>"I think YOU should do a bit more research instead. Comparing First with TOCs of Britain and TOCs around the world. They are definetely not good." Im going to have go with Nathan on this Stooopid Person , First Great Western after both Southall and Ladbrooke Grove disasters, they've pulled they're socks up and continued to go from strength to strength, even ordered 5 car Class 180's, which I've discovered to be most comfortable and a worthwhile investment in the long run. (They kick the ass of Virgin's class 220's/221's IMHO )
And First Buses in Edinburgh, I've never had a problem with them, mostly punctual and modern.
Can't comment about my local area, as Brighton and Hove and Stagecoach buses dominate the scene.

There are too many of you so called 'Peace settlers' who write out chunks of writing about how we should stop debating and discussing things, then about five of you follow up with about the same thing but with different words. It's almost pathetic, none of you have your own opinion you just follow what everyone else says. A little tip for you Pete, if you don't like what you read, then bugger off! Oh and who gave you the right to tell us that we are arguing out of proportion. Infact in my opinion none of this was a heated discussion until the likes of you came along rubbing your nose in it. Do us all a favour and get on yer bike.
