First off, thanks to the persons who answered by first post, but here is my problem. I am using a route that does not have station announcement when the doors open, I want to put in some files that I have in order to spice up the route. A couple of questions: 1-Can that be done if the route did not originally have sound files for that purpose? 2-If it can, can I just take the files from another source and copy them into the sound file for the route that I want the sounds to be played in? 3-If not, how can I get the sounds to be played in the route? Thanks for your help!!

Thanks for your help!! 1 Yes, but if your intending to release the route, don't forget to ask permission from the person who's sound files you want to add to your route.2 Yes you can. In the route, in the @sta or .Sta command, you need to direct BVE to the folder that you've put the sound files in. To make it easier, leave the sound files where they are, and just direct BVE to the sound folder that the sounds were originally in.3 Answer as in #2 above.I can't off hand remember where abouts in the .sta or @sta command you need to direct BVE to the sound files, but if no one replies by the time I get home from work tonight, I'll check then and put another reply to this post.HTH'sSacha
SLUGS !!! He created slugs, they can't speak, they can't hear, they can't operate machinery. Are we not in the hands of a lunatic here? If I was the creator of the universe, I wouldn't fluff around with butterflies and daffodils, I'd start with lasers, 8 o'clock, day 1, POW !!!!
Thank you for replying. No I do not intened to release this route as it belongs to someone else in here. It is only for my use. I just felt that it needed some announcements at the stations to make it perfect. However, I will not be able to direct BVE to the original sound folder as it has Japanese Characters and I do not know how to proceed from there.

Thank you, Womer. I understand the basics. Can I e-mail you to tell you exactly what I am doing? Then you can get a better idea as to why i'm doing it.
>I will not be able to >direct BVE to the original sound folder as it has Japanese >Characters and I do not know how to proceed from there. Then select the folder's name and then copy it and paste it into your .sta command in your route file.
-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!----- Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it. Eh, where did my signature go? Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it. Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)! It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet. Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
