-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!----- Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it. Eh, where did my signature go? Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it. Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)! It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet. Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
There is a 156 currently available at www.bveuk.tk and one in production by the talented author, Mark Milmine over at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.milmine/Index.htmlAs for the 165, there is a 166 at http://www.bvetrains.co.uk but Miles Codrington is making a 165 cab view. I do not believe there is a 165/166 in production - sorry!A full list of both UK Routes and Trains (whether in production or available) is available for viewing at my website.Damon Cox Virtual Rail - BVE & MSTS The Siding - Railway Photography

Just to inform you, a Central Trains 158 passenger view is in production, i estimate the release will be over the weekend, if not before...It has officially been completed, however.... BVEuk is closing becuase i cannot give up my spare time 'Operating' the website. In place of bveuk, there will be a small download page, with links to my creations, however, the Class156 will not be on the page as it was only a Beta, and has many faults.
The Class 165/166's are identical, the only difference is in fixtures and fittings inside the passenger area itself. The original Turbos were supplied to what became Chiltern Railways. They all had a maximum speed of 75 mph. 165001 - 165007 were subsequently lent to what became Thames Trains after privatisation. In turn 165006/7 were leased back to Chilterns and the others 165001 - 165005 remained with Thames. In fact 165001 and 165004 go back to Chiltern Trains tomorrow, 1st April. As regards the 165/1 and 166/0 the only difference is in internal finish. The 166/0 are all three cars, max 227 seats (as against 272 on a 165/1). The 166/0 have carpetting, two toilets, airconditioning and were originally fitted with payphones which were removed fairly shortly after fitting because of vandalism. All Thames units have a maximum speed of 90 mph. They also have spaces for bike storage, and what was a recess for a 'trolley dolly' but was later changed into three longtitudal seats because the trolley idea did not work.My job is as a Fleet Controller with Thames Trains so I know the ins and outs of the units pretty well. We have to run 830 trains a day with 62 units and my job is to actually make sure we have enough units to go round, and if (when) they break down to replace them with something else to try and keep the service going. Not so much a mechanical matter as being trained as a juggler!A long answer that might clear things up a bit. Cabwise all the Turbos have had some minor alterations in layout, ie fitting of the DRA (drivers Reminder Appliance) and some TPWS switches so a revamp might be in order by those that can do these things but otherwise the 166 as produced is still ok.By the way Thames Trains finishes today, the franchise expired and we are now known as First Great Western Trains Link. In fact as I type this at 00.35 hrs it has finished. RIP.Bill Veloz
