Hello folks.
I've been trying to set up the BVE simulator and,
following instructions, I downloaded and ran both
bve2.6.2en.zip and uchibo8.exe from the 'get bve'
page. Uchibo8.exe seems fine, it contains all the
train and track bits but bve2.6.2en.zip was much
smaller than expected and just unpacked to a file
called bve2.6.2en.msi which the accompanying text
file told me to 'run'. What's going on here please?
Am I missing something or are they.
Many thanks for any help.Peter Harris

RE: BVE dowload and setup question

bve2.6.2en.msi is the standard installation file of Windows, which is smaller. Simply run it and enjoy!

MSI is the new "Microsoft software installer" format and is part of Windows since Windows 2000 : if you have Windows 2000 or XP you can install by double-clicking the filename. Otherwise (if you have Windows 98) download before the installer here:

Many thanks, Luigi!
It was not at all obvious to this Win98 User.
