Hi GuysThis is just a quick message on behalf of "Meridian Nick", who is making the 170/6 Passenger View I'm going to host, who would like to know how many polygons are allowed in a train object for BVE. If there is no limit, what is the norm?Damon Cox - http://www.virtual-rail.co.uk

If there is no limit, what is the >norm? It's very hard to say the normal. It depends on the train anyway. If you're making a streamlined train, then probably you'll need more vertices. But if you making a "box" shaped train, then there would be less.
-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!----- Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it. Eh, where did my signature go? Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it. Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)! It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet. Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
There is a limit, but it seems to be very large. I made a forest with Tom Beevers' trees. Each tree is about 1k file size and has 16 vertex. The forest was about 1.5 meg big with around 1500 trees with about 24000 vertex. If it was the only object in a route, it would load very very slowly. When I went to 2000 trees, BVE and Track viewer failed. I do not know if it failed because of BVE limits or memory in my computer. So the limit, at least on my machine, is somewhere between 24000 vertex and 32000 vertex. Note BVE 2.9 took X objects which seem to have 1000's of vertex.
>There is a limit, but it seems to be very large. I remember if you used SWITCH 1.5 to make a switch, and make the X-offset lower than bigger than -1m and smaller than 1m, it would give a whole lot of vertices and would crash Structure Viewer, BVE and TrackViewer!
