Edinburgh - Aberdeen Display Problems – image 1

Hi GuysI have today reinstalled Edinburgh to Aberdeen and all seems to go well, until, BVE loads everything up with missing objects!
This route always worked before on this same computer before I had to reinstall everything. I have attached a screenshot onto the bottom of this post. After travelling the first few miles of the route, I have found it is mainly platform sides and verges that are missing and replaced with white gaps.
I am running a fully installed version of BVE 2.5.3.Damon Cox

Hi,I think the problem may be to do with the amount of graphics memory your video card has free when loading the route. Edb-Abd is particularly heavy on textures, and on 32 and even 64mb cards it's possible that BVE could be falling over trying to manage all the image data.I'm suggesting this because I too had this problem. To fix it, I went through the object folder for the route and performed a batch resize on all of the texture images, forcing them to a maximum texture size of 64x64. You will also notice frame rates increase and stuttering reduce. Try it out.DavidBVE in Glasgow:

David,How would I go about making a batch resize. I'm not quite that technical yet, if I ever will be
The strange thing is, this route worked surprisingly good on this same machine, just a few weeks before having to reinstall everything from scratch.Damon Cox

Guys?Seems that much more has happened since I posted. Steve, I have the same NVidia than you, 53.03 and it doesn't seem to work. Other routes seem to work. I drove a BETA route today, Thanks Chris and this also gives me the same problem. Please, please help. I dunno what else to do.Damon Cox

DonWell guys, long time no hear from me! The old adage still seems to apply - new hardware, new problems!
I'm sorry to hear you are having a hard time with graphics rendering. If the solution of reducing all graphics to 64 x 64 works, then that seems like a fair idea. I would have some reservations though - a low resolution like that may "fuzz out" some objects to a visually unacceptable degree.
I am offshore this week, but must try BVE 2.6 on the Edin-Aberdeen when I get home - I too have a new graphics card - a GeForce 5200. Been too busy with everything to even touch BVE for some months now.don@gotopcs.net

Edb-Abd runs okay on my desktop PC, but I get the same problem as described on the laptop. That it's video memory related seems most likely as the laptop has 32Mb of video RAM and shares system memory, whereas the desktop has 128Mb of video RAM.However this is the only route I have experienced problems with.
