The Road Ahead (not to Redmond!) – image 1

Hey guys,a thread on another forum focusing on this mess ended with me posting the following, I am reproducing it here just so that everyone who joins afresh (welcome, one and all!) will realise that this can be their Bve home and remember why we do this - for fun, for the love of it, and hopefully being able to share it with other appreciative people, so here goes... (the reply was directed at a comment that said "I think there may not be a Bve forum on t-s.com soon. I think") to which I wrote:=====================================================================Ah, well I happen to believe in the t-s forum, simply because :-1) We would all like it to continue happily2) I have made this a matter of principle, which is why I put my name and reputation on the line by closing SLW... and amazingly this was quickly followed by NVTA and BRJ too... thanks a million, guys, you are true stars! So we are protesting because if no-one learns from this episode, there is nothing to prevent another bve brothers or anus coming along and doing it all over again.
When people devote large amounts of their own time, money and resources to creating something for pleasure, then giving it away totally free with the only reward being the happiness of the users who download it, it is essential that those people's interests are looked after, else you know that familiar parting phrase 'I'm sorry guys but bve is no longer giving me any fun and I'm sick of <this> <that> <the other> so thanks and goodbye'... and it is all our loss as human beings that a simple act of giving and sharing should be taken so lightly and treated like it didn't count. So, yes, I believe in public Bve forums, the more the better, it should be like where lots of 'gamey' pals visit each other's houses, all are networked, etc. Each forum, given enough time and good contribution, gains a special 'feel'.... how many people have you heard say 'I miss Crotrainz, it felt like home' and so on...so each group of people solve problems in different ways, etc. and we are all better off as a result of much creativity and talent having the opportunity to shine.I've waffled long enough, thanks for reading =====================================================================Let this be the new guidelines. what we do, we do for fun, anyone who tries to spoil it will not succeed. In 30 minutes from the time of this post the doors of SLW will be open, have at it CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve
