Hi all, I am very new to this forum but I am looking for help with an error message which my copy of BVE likes to throw at me.Whenever I run certain routes (The only ones I can remember are Tom Beever's Piccadilly LUL Line and David Coleman's Jubilee Extension LUL Line), BVE creates and renders the structure, and displays the panel, then displays: "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range".I have looked on many help sites but cannot fidn this particular error message. Does anybody know what this is and how to fix it? Dan
Daniel, Just a couple of pointers. a) If you are patient, you will get replies from the people hight up who understand this stuff, remember, BVE is only a hobby. b) I know you used CAPITALS to emphasise the sentance, but it is regarded as shouting. c) Welcome to the forums.Back to the subject, I think the "Error 9" originates due to missing files of some sort, not sure which, however, it is a common problem so don't worry too much, you're not alone. I got it with a certain BETA and there was a whole host of various people working to fix it. I think it has something to do with missing backgrounds or some important feature, I'm not the most "technical" person in the community. I think basic freeobjects just come up in a box, upon startup of Boso View Express.Hope this can shed some light, not sure how to resolve it mind you.Damon Cox Shameless Self Promotion
Run time error 9 is a Visual Basic error message and it comes up for a multitude of different reasons. It's because VB cannot find some files that it needs to run. Does this occur with every route that you try and run? If it only occurs with one route it could be a bad download. Have you installed all of the routes/objects/sounds/trains into the correct places? BVE is VERY particular about where everything goes. Have you installed Direct X (9.0b is the latest free from Microsoft)? Take a look at Conferences BVE Topic #729, or do a search.
