on studio albums this can sometimes be achieved, but if its taken from an actual recoding done via minidisc, it can be hard,, if not impossible. i don't use goldwave personally, but you might want to try using a filter to reject the woman's voice. chances are you'll get poor results. what do you actually want to keep? linking to the wav file might help us better understand what it sounds like.

RE: sounds

Goldwave is brilliant - well-worth the money charged for registering it - and I use it a lot for such things as putting old vinyl onto CD, removing scratches and glitches. It's certainly possible to use Goldwave for such tasks as taking clicks out of records - the 'click' has a particular sound-profile, and the program makes a pretty-good job of the maths required to subtract the profile of the click from the rest of the sound; but taking the very complex profile of continuous speech out of a sample is far harder, and Goldwave won't manage it.HOWEVER, if you can get just a couple of seconds of the recording without the voice across the top of it, you can cut that bit and the create a new sound by just repeatedly pasting it into the new sound.

RE: sounds

In Goldwave, you could try this:Effects>Stereo>Reduce VocalsAlthough, you will need to have the sound in stereo to do this. The sound may become "different", but if its a high pitch sound, try increasing the trebble/reducing the bass, as this may be able to bring the sound out.

.... going through regeneration.
