Hello All!Nearly finished the 360 EMU added real door and other sounds. The speedo has now been installed (Many, many, many thanks to Robert Glass!)I seem to be having a problem with the movement of the train. I've tried driving the unit on B'ham-X-City South Route and various others - it seems the unit 'lurches' all over the place (especially on the Birmingham Route) - I've got an idea that it's to do with the placing of the cab and the movement variables, but no matter what I try, I can't seem to get it right! Anyone got any ideas? I think it just could be the fact that I'm missing something really simple...360 Beta 2 (1MB) (The train doesn't contain any Run sounds, as I've yet to get permission to include them).
That's a very interesting problem! I tried it out on one of my own route's and I noticed that as one goes over the points it makes sudden jerks similar to those of which you mentioned in your above post. I can safely say it's a train.dat problem!
HiCheck the #CAR section of your train.dat (or 'Cons' if you're using the train editor). You've entered the train as a single 81m motor car of 164 tonnes and 0 trailers, each weighing 0 tonnes .I tried splitting the train up into 4 cars of 20.5m and 41 tonnes each and it ran smoothly through the points at Barnt Green and Longbridge in BVE2.9. #CAR section of train.dat as follows:#CAR 41 2 41 2 20.5 0This represents 2 motor cars + 2 trailers. You'll need to change it to whatever is correct for a 360.Cheers Simon
Right,Confusion over (sort of!?!) thanks to Simon_G (He knows what he's doing!!!!). A big thanks has been added to the credits. The only work left to do on the 360 is really the brake/main res gauge and the brake % gauge. I don't know if such a thing is possible, but I will keep trying- again, any suggestions would be most appreciated.Once most of the gauge thingies have been sorted and the run.wav file copyright issues have been sorted, then the train can be released.I can be contacted through MSN messenger: messenger@cooperhayden.co.uk if anyone has any suggestions. Should anyone need any advice/materials/sounds from 08/310/312/315/321/360 EMU's I'd be happy to email them with the relavent details. I've set up a brief website Great Eastern Units should anyone need any cab pics.etc. - I've included some WAGN 317 cab pics to get people started....Hope this helps.Paul

Yes it is possible, you make it the same way as you(or Robert Glass) made the speedometer. You make a seperate brake gauge picture, then you make a cover for it. Take a look at other BVE trains.
-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!----- Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it. Eh, where did my signature go? Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it. Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)! It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet. Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
