Easter has always been a good day for computer programs and add-ons. RouteBuilder has certainly given us great expectations for the future of route creation. If all goes well, it will be out tomorrow! How do you think this will affect route creation? Will there be lots of new routes? Will the initial ones be of only 50-50 quality? Anyone have any comments or predictions?
RE: RouteBuilder is coming! RouteBuilder is coming!
I have a feeling that there will be some half baked routes out very quickly, from people wanting a bit of fame, but after the initial rush, things will settle down, and some good routes will be produced. Hopefully, non routebuilder objects can be mixed in (with permission of course), which will make the difference between excellent routes, and good routes. The demo routes out at the moment show what can be acheived with the basic program - further development will make creation of excellent routes a lot less time consuming. Not a shortcut to excellence, but merely a different technique.

I have seen people saying they're going to learn proper coding from route builder exported code. What i'd suggest is if you're going to learn proper coding do it from a proper route, the code RB produces is unoptimised to say the least.-- Tom Beevers http://brj.rr.nu

I am looking forward to routebuilder. It may produce bad routes but what we should do is to advise others on how to improve thier routes and give help, which is what this place if for.
