Hello All! The Island line BETA has gone out today. The line has been created from Ryde Pier Head to Ryde St Johns Road at the moment. The BETAs have been sent and I look foward to hearing of the news and developing the line further to Shanklin. Here is a screenshot of St Johns Road as it stands at the moment (in the route)

Hi NathanAt RSJ, you need some clutter next to and beyond the platform on the right where the coal yard is, and where the old engine shed was. Also the line is in a valley, and on the right slightly higher up you need some houses. But other than that, it's looking good.
(Also, you've forgotten that RSJ now has a footbridge at the far end of the platform before the signalbox.Chris

>Chris Forgive me I've been usign an early video, and there doesn't appear to be a footbridge in the video, which is probably why I've forgotten it. I'm not sure when I will set this, so there may not be a Smallbrook Junction, and there may well be a signal box on the pier.

RE: Screenshots & BETA information

Hello all,I've used BVE for quite some time now, and have decided to register and talk to other people out there. Given that the Island line is under way, does anyone fancy coding the Fastcat from Portsmouth Harbour to the pierhead? We've got buses under way, so why not boats? Before anyone asks, I haven't yet attempted coding, but will get around to it just as soon as the railways are renationalised and Finsbury Park depot is rebuilt.Best regardsPaul

Hi NathanThe point is though that if you don't include modern changes and things like Smallbrook, then 1938 stock will be wrong for the route, and as yet no one has made any 'standard' stock yet.Chris

>Chris OK point taken, I never said I wasn't including the footbridge in the route at all. Now I think you should stay out of the matter altogether as I find you downright rude and abbrupt. EDIT: I've also not decided when I'll set the route (as I've already mentioned) And nowhere have I said that it is set in stone which train will use the routefile. Perhaps you might use a nicer way of suggesting improvements.

Perhaps a bit over-enthusiastic, but I am offended by being killed rude because I merely gave you -constructive- criticism. I live on the Island, and know the route, so I am sure that I can give you some helpful advice. However, please point out to me where I have been rude and I will apologise. Giving someone advice for the better good is surely not seen as being provocative or rude or am I seeing things wrong?Chris

RE: Screenshots & BETA information

Hi NathanI do not feel more 'superior' to you, I was merely stating that i live on the Island, and that obviously gives me a advantage (perhaps not much) when it comes to relating information as I would have been over the line a few days earlier. My use of 'you need' is perhaps that of a teacher looking through a piece of work and saying 'you need a full stop here', rather than that of a order, and I apologise if I think that I was being abrupt. I was merely trying to get information across as quick as I could because I have been feeling queasy lately and looking at a computer screen gives me a headache. I think this is all a big miss-understanding and I hope you are adult enough to let bygones be bygones and move on from this unfortunate episode.Chris

>stock yet. Standard Stock has been made, if you look at the Piccadilly Line, there should be a Standard Stock, which was modified by me, from a mixture of the 1959 and Q stock.I'm not sure whether it has been included in the newest V3, but V2 defintely has it. I can give you a screenshot if you want to.Almost ALL LU stock objects has been made. A few exceptions are the Battery Locos. Tube Stock from Standard Stock all the way to 1996 stock except the 3 1986 stocks has been made by different authors with all of them including interiors except the 1996 stock, fround on RandLU route.
Surface Stock made are G, Q, CO/CP, R, A, C, D.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

>If you could show a screenie of the standard stock that
>would be wonderful Thanks. From left to right, Standard Stock DM, Standard Stock CT, 1938 stock with doors open(just in case you're interested ), Standard Stock Dark. But if they were used on Island Line, they would require repainting to BR blue or NSE livery in its later days.I know the roof of the Standard Stock looks very ugly and simple, but look at the advantage! It only uses 6 vertices per car instead of more than 10 if I were to detail it properly! It also can't be seen clearly from the train you're driving actually.

RE: Screenshots & BETA information

HiI believe it was in the early 1980's - The stock was originally in basic BR Blue, but was repainted in a Blue and Grey livery more akin to Intercity than normal BR livery of that time.Chris
