Thanks
Matt

A man walks into a scientist's lab looking to buy a new brain. He asks the scientist how much the brains cost. The scientist says, "Well first we have a normal human brain, it costs $1000, next we have a scientist's brain, it costs $5000, and then we come to a politician's, it costs $10,000."
"How come the politician's brain costs so much?", asks the man.
The scientist replies, "Because it's never been used."

It can't.The only route file is the v3 Uxbridge one. V2 Haport is no longer availible, until v4 is ready. I may consider reinstating the v2 files, however there will no doubt be whinging that they are not up to modern standards etc. However I will try and find them, they're on a disk here somewhere.--

>whinging that they are not up to modern standards etc. I think you've really got to rise above the so called "whinging". A lot of people only put foward constructive critisisms to help you when you develop your route further. I'm pretty sure that not everyone has access to the latest super computer with maximum memory, therefore compromises have to be made, rather than degrading such persons by implying that their computer is antiquated or not to your liking.

Tom,
I'm not whinging at the moment, however, the route that you had produced can have some amazing effects on some computers. I had waited a fairly long time, as all people do, for the route to load and during rendering, my PC ran out of Physical Memory! It was a clean install of XP Pro with some BVE Routes and Trains & My Website.
Nathan is right, the community are offering valied points in trying to help you in your development. Surely this is helpful to a keen developer like yourself.
If Microsoft had a $ for every comment or bug regarding their software, they would still be the comapany they are!
This post is basically just to say please don't use the word whinging to summarise the community.Damon CoxCockfosters - Heathrow route file – image 3

Tom,I think Heathrow is a great route. But there will always be people that criticise. Im sure that none of the community mean any offence by it.Anyway, I think that the fact that u are being criticised for not having the route available shows how in high esteem we hold you and your route! RedSam

>for the route to load and during rendering, my PC ran
>out of Physical Memory! The present route needs 400+MB of RAM, compared to only around 170+MB for X-City and 200+MB for Northern combined route file, so I think the oresent one would be around 150MB+.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

Myself and Stoopid are working on reducing that. However in the meantime, V2 Heathrow routefiles are at UK Train Sim, file 4350. I will put up the URL of my own server copy when WS_FTP starts working. If I get round to it, I will try and do some sort of low-spec v3 route before v4 time.--

Tom, I have not been able to download the right Picadilly Files from UKTRAINSIM.
There is one set at the top, but these appear to be version 3 (As it says in the Installer, but then there is version 3 below aswell, which is twice as big (2 Object Files).Which one do I download?
AND which one has worked best for everyone else?
Cheers!
