London Underground Northern Line v3.0 now available

Northern Line v3.0 has been released.Running southbound from Edgware to Kennington, then around the Loop to the Northbound lines, and up to High Barnet, this is version v3.0 of the London Underground Northern Line.The setting is year 2000, with the 1995 stock. You can change the stock to 1972 Mk1 or 1938 by editing the route file. For best results try it with BRR program for random signalling! Please read the download page fully for full information regarding the special signals required to run the route authentically. BVE v2.5 or greater is required.www.trainsimcentral.co.ukCheers

Just driven it southbound. It's fantastic, you have to keep a constant eye on the speed because with the realistic gradiants, the line is like a roller coaster.

Big two thumbs from me ... works great on 2.9.
I'm getting 44fps in the tunnels , around 27 outside , and that's at 1024x768 with 4xfsaa and 2x anisotropic filtering .. ATI card is a 9700 pro running xp on a 2600+ athlon thorobred.

I know I'm just posting again & repeating everyone in what a great product you and your team have achieved, but, the patch works great.
If you start outside, you will see embankments missing and just white areas, however, the patch doesn't only fix the underground sections, it also fixes the above.Overall, a good product to drive.Edit: It's inspired me to make a BVE/MSTS Community Headline table on my site Damon Cox

Truly great work, 2.0 was one of my all time favorite routes (and the first route I ever found to feature a night version, which made me very excited at the time). It was hard for me to believe that v2 could get any better, as it was that close to the real thing, yet this one is even better. You've done it again.Also I love the fact that it runs well on 2.9; since I mostly just play that now Now if only I could get Sandymill Electric to work on it too

What can I say that has not already been said? Wowee! Fantastic! Thanks to Steve and all the helpers. This was the first route I ever got for BVE, I even broke down and got a new computer to run BVE because of this route. I remember how thrilled I was when Steve did the UK EMU and DMU routes for Mechanik (remember those?) When I found his Northern Line, I was estatic. This new version is just great! I thought it would be hard to improve on the prior version, but this has certainly been accomplished. I love the signals - really keeps your full attention to driving as you will hit some reds if your running a bit early. The detail is just fantastic - all the stations look very authentic. I rode most of the route last year - both branches, and if memory serves my correctly, the details in this route are spot on.Making this route must have been a long and labourious process. Thanks again to everyone! Well worth the wait.

Wow Thankyou for the quick feedback. Nice to know there are no problems (Yet ) It really does help knowing that the stuff we've been working on is appreciated out there.Can I just thank Paul Jobber, who's idea and new code and station textures inspired me to go on and improve the whole thing. Keith Hazelton, (although a Gooner) who has been there from day one - this one is for you mate! Hi allThanks Steve. I managed to get the movie working over the weekend (my work network will not allow me to download the .exes that the video needs - I can't even download package installation programmes!)The route really looks very impressive, particularly the extra buildings at the side of the route. Woodside Park looked really excellent. I like the new "round" station objects, I am glad someone has worked out the cylinder function for the stations and tunnels. I tried, but could never work out how to get the ends transparent.Next time I visit my parents house, I will get round to downloading BVE 2.5 and have a drive.Paul

Put simply, this is probably the best LU Bve route yet made. The new '95 train is a peach, and all aspects (!) are spot-on, signalling, grades, sounds, the tunnel/station shapes and layouts are 'to die for'... then there's all that radio chatter... and the great 'mini-scenario' of TCR being shut due to a security alert... top stuff, Steve, I'll buy you a whole barrel of Nelson's Revenge if you ever show up here! p.s. if you want to lie down and be plumbed in, that can be arranged CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve

Congrats to Steve and Co I still have the first version present on my HDD.Comparing the two really shows the wast improvements made.You guys did a great job upgrading a great route.Now it is much more lifelike.Last time I was in London I actually took a trip to High Barnett, just because I had driven the line so many times on my computer.Running ver. 3 is like being there again. Now it really looks like High Barnett. I clearly remember the footbrige across the tracks. I know it is tedious work creating all the buildings but it really makes a huge difference. Finally I cannot get enough of these new sleek smoothly curved tracks..I hope You get the spirit to upgrade other lines to the 'new standard'.Finally, Thank You for sharing Your work with me.ChrisD
