More Island Line Screenshots – image 3

Hi Nathan,
I know they don't have much scenery, but, they look quite nice already! Looks like some effort has been put in there. Another UK southern route, and on an island I'm fairly familiar with.
A great start to a 2004!

Thanks,

Glad to see some is doing the project I thought of, but just had not worked it out.
I have some train objects that were done for me for the project, I'm sure the author wouldn't mind if I pass them on for you since you are now doing the prject. It would be nice to see them in Use they are 2 car set with bothe open and closed doors, with desinations for Shacklin and Ryde Pier Head, they are also transparent windowed with deatailed inside.Tom

>for you since you are now doing the prject. No problem! But you'll have to ask Paul Jobber first.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

LAST EDITED ON Jan-18-04 AT 04:24 AM (EST)

HiI live on the Island, and those screenshots look good, however I think the pier still needs some work, as the rails are on chairs on girders, and between the running lines and in the middle track there is planking running down the pier, however it dosen't completely cover the pier. Oh, and are you sure that the esplanade curve is tight enough? (dont forget the footbridge!)Anyway, its nice to see someone working on my local line, and I can't wait for a beta.Chris

The curve isn't tight enough I know but it's only BVE The footbridge is there, although they were *early* screenshots! However as living proof, here stands the footbridge. TBH I can't really faff around with the pier at the moment, however I will see to it later. I'm sure this route won't have as many inacurracies as a certain underground line

>James. Hey James good to see you back. No not yet, I have some objects of 1938 stock which I've converted to 2-car and re-liveried the front to look more like the converted stock. I have cheated slightly and therefore I already have '006' (I think) which is the LT Red painted stock. I do know of someone who has the DEV for the Island line and therefore I may ask to borrow it as I will need it for the section from the tunnel to St Johns and so on. Distincitve buildings of which there are pictures available, such as the Depot at St Johns Road, are easily made and can be placed as soon as possible. I will get a screenshot of the dinosaur A.S.A.P.

>Chris Try 008 Your right 006 isn't in LT red, therefore I must have gotten my sources incorrect. I have since corrected the number on the formentioned unit, and dinosaur livery is in it's early stages. I hadn't envisiged that the task would be something of a troublesome one, however I have battled on and I shall be able to produce a screenshot on Tuesday.

>What DEV of Island Line? Hehe, that would be my one Its produced by Branchline Video's (So isn't of a "super" quality ) and portrays the route very well, including some shots of the signalbox's en route, which shows the signalling diagrams clearly! Although, it isn't filmed on a particulary sunny day, and when it was filmed the old Class 485's where still chugging about!RRP £18.95, however, I got it for £4 from Brighton Market, thus I aint complaing! P.S: 225 Studios have filmed a more "up to date" video onboard the LT livery'd Class 483. Might be worth looking into.Cheer's all,

RE: More Island Line Screenshots

Hi NathanRe the track objects: These were not created by me, so I cannot give permission. Also, since presumably the 1938 stock (except one unit) has "Dinosaur" skins, you may need to check with the creator of those skins. Please note, that my red unit skins will need a yellow lower cab panel adding to the cab front. A good book has been published recently on tube stock on the Isle of Wight, with plenty of colour photos, see details below. You should find it at the LT Musuem shop/Ian Allan/Motor Books, or by mail order.TUBE TRAINS ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT1st Edition - Brian Hardy

Hi,
I'm sure you are not but don't rush lol. If you would like any info about the line and the extensions, like when it went to Ventnor, I have a relitive who used to work on the line in the footsteps of his father.
I have various texts but no pictures I'm afraid.

Thanks,
