HiNot posted on here for a while but I need some help!I've been modelling the stretch of track between Sheffield & Grindleford this past week or so and I've come up against the behemoth that is Totley Tunnel. Thing is, since the tunnel is so long I want to put some kind of effect inside the tunnel so you cant continually see the light at the end. I seem to recall it has something to do with a fog command?Any ideas?Cheers

RE: Fog effect in tunnels?

HiIt is indeed to do with the fog command.in CSV, the fog command is : .fog Start;end;R;G;BThe start distance is how far in front of the train the fog appears to be
The end distance is how long each patch of fog appears to be. By altering this the density of the fog can be selected, the longer the fog the less dense it appears
The colours are just the brightness of the respective colours,Its just trial and error really untilyou achieve the desired effectHope this helps,

RE: Fog effect in tunnels?

Why not have a black background inside your tunnel: eg!!!CSV!!!texture.background(0) bg_fine.bmp
texture.background(1) black.bmp0,
.back 0,;tunnel starts;1000,
.wall 0;1;1, ;or whatever your tunnel is;
.back 1,2000,
.back 0,;tunnel ends;2400,
.wallend 0,
hope this helps.

RE: Fog effect in tunnels?

Well, the simple answer to that, is it depends on how far you wish people driving the route to be able to see. The background will appear at whatever distance the draw distance is set to, but the fog can appear to be closer, depends how dark you want the tunnel to appear to be.Cheers
