New Route – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Apr-20-03 AT 12:16 PM (EDT)

Hello Folks,
In spite of recent events I am still ploughing on with my projects!
I'd like to draw your attention to a route and train displayed here. This route was based upon an idea that Alex Farlie posted on Crotrainz many moons ago. I have addapted it slightly!!Here is a screenshot of a 2-BIL SR EMU approaching "Newlands West". I've attempted to use Sussex names on the route as it is a coastway route!! There are scenes of the seaside further along. The train will be released with the route as it is a 1930s, and set just after the electrification of the *real* coastway lines. Here is the picture:New Route – image 2

Cheers D2UK JLE Line! As you can see the speedo and brake gauge needs updating very badly!! Just wanted to point out that I am in the process of building an SR EMU from about 1935. The 2-BIL is a semi-fast EMU, and the train will govern its speed around 70mph, maybe 75-80 on a good day The route will feature traction from the 30s and lots of relics from that time. The route starts at a harbour area, a little like Littlehampton, it continues through the country and round a bay, and ends up at a large station at the end of the branch where the mainline to London would join. It's still WIP but its not that far from completion as it was a private project started sometime in November.

Maybe you can use the panel from the MSTS version. All it needs is a bit of resizing.

HAPPY NOW? It's not moving anymore.
It's still the same train but in another livery, that's all.

>Maybe you can use the panel from the MSTS version. All it needs is a >bit of resizing. Are you saying my one is crap then????? No don't worry lol! Um Phil, the Panel for the BIL in MSTS is actually more like a Bulleid design 4-SUB!Common with most 1932/1935 built EMUs there would be three gauges down the left hand side, the Brake and Train gauges, then the Speedometer. The 2-BIL could maybe top 75mph if it was going down a hill on a nice windy day (wind behind it) It could possibly run around 60mph!The 4-COR is also similar. The cab was almost tube style, in the fact that the airbrake controller had three steps and was the normal Westinghouse Brake controller. The 'Deadman' or DSD to some of you, would have the normal 4 steps, Shunt, Series, Parallel, and Weak field. The motors would be fed in; Series, Transition, Parrallell and Field Weakened, respectively. These units had a 250HP Motor mounted on each axle in the motor coach only. These would draw a fair amount upon acceleration (25% more amperes than that of full power) Obviously in days gone by, however I've reseached this correctly so I'm hoping it will at least resemble it in some way.But in short, no the MSTS cab for the BIL is not that of a BIL EMU, with no disrespect to the creator of the 2-BIL, as I enjoyed riding on this superb EMU in MSTS. Any questions
