Found a great little Japanese Program which enables you to enter the start and finish stations in English, and will give you line name and time of run, It's called, "Train Search 041" and works well with Windows 9XTo Get It.........
go to ..... http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dl/win95/home/se163724.htmland Download, "trsearch041.lzh / 321,967 Bytes / 2003.3.26 FTP"When downloaded open it with LH Melting, when blown open the "Data" folder Now create a new folder, "Jap"Move the following files into "Jap".....
Dialog_sjis.dat
err_sjis.dat
line_sjis.nrk
stn_sjis.nrk
word_sjis.datRename these filesDialog_us.dat
err_us.dat
line_us.nrk
stn_eng.nrk
word_us.datCome out of "Jap" and rename the following filesDialog_us.dat
err_us.dat
line_us.nrk
stn_eng.nrk
word_us.datto this ....Dialog_sjis.dat
err_sjis.dat
line_sjis.nrk
stn_sjis.nrk
word_sjis.dat
And thats it.Now just click on the EXE iconYou can now enter start and finish stations along with 3 intermeadiate stops if you wish in English then press the box marked, _You will get up to 5 diferent ways of travelling between the start and finish pointsAs an example I entered, Tokyo Shinjuku in _
and sendai in _1then clicked _This gave me 5 different ways to get there in English including line name and the price in Yen (Its roughly 160 Yen to the Pound Sterling)All the JR lines seem to be on it and quite a lot of the other private ones on it too
If you have Windows XP there are lots of Japanese railway programs, simulators and train map programs on here.....
http://www.vector.co.jp/vpack/filearea/win/home/traffic/trains/index.html
They wont open with 9X but XP should be OK, why not post if you can get any of the others going ?
(Babelfish works OK with this site)

RE: Japanese Route Program

How fun. I tried it with a couple of lines I have downloaded that have English names, and it works well. The time tables match very closely to the BVE routes.
