BVE Wales – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Dec-22-03 AT 10:01 AM (EST)

Afternoon,
I was looking through the banner exchange (how sad am I ) and found BVE Wales. I remember the name as previously the banner was a little red cross and the site didn't load but today I saw the banner and the site worked and I found a hidden Eurostar.
It looks fantastic!I have just found out it is Alun Jenkins who is responsible and he is one of my BETA testing team. There is also a Newport to Cardiff Central line planned. If you visit The Siding I have only recently returned from there so I know it fairly well. Thanks,
Visit the site at http://bvewales.50free.org/site/

Thanks,
Damon Cox

RE: BVE Wales

Why thankyou for the comments damon! Hope you guys like the Eurostar thats planned, its near enough half done, just needs speedos etc.
The Newport-Cardiff Route is not yet started and I will prob start it in 2004. I chose this area as 1.) Its in Wales (as with the site) 2. I live in Newport.

RE: BVE Wales

Hmm.
Well, try writing to, or emailling GNER. Maybe talk to John Owen? Im sure GNER would let you put some recording Equipment in the cab, so long as you say that you would pay the fair of where you would travel to. Thats the only thing i could suggest.

U can tell me whether or not anyone will notice, I did take the sounds from sort of another train based on TGV and eurostar Technology. The trains missing speedos and stuff at the mo but there ya go. Give me a shout if u r interested.

Not a chance, especially on the 373s, Pete.

RE: BVE Wales

do ya, where in newport ya from? Um the matter of 373 sounds, hes right there ain't much of a chance, you got to think along the lines of bomb scares as well, not something you can deal with in tunnels. (as in the waterloo - paris channel tunnel)
It would be good if someone could write a route (waterloo-paris)not me mind, i'm very un-experienced with route building. The newport-cardiff is very unrealistic at the moment. Not having much fun with rb

RE: BVE Wales

There was some talk ages ago about an express route.
I think someone was saying about having an underground route with few stations, and it would be a sort of EuroStar route?I have the EuroStar route for MsTS, and in the tunnel, it does get a bit boring, but it would be great to wizz along at 208MPH!
I have a passing train sound of that if someone was to create a route. As yet, I have had no word on my version, but im not holding my breath

>with few stations, and it would be a sort of EuroStar route? Drive the Waterloo and City Line route. Then pretend Bank is France and Waterloo is Waterloo International!

Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

No.
Full credit to Chris Longhurst! If you have MsTS then you should recognise it really

>No.
>Full credit to Chris Longhurst! If you have MsTS then you
>should recognise it really Pete this is exactly what gets me. Where was the credit to Chris when you first posted that screenshot? It was only when questioned by N Whitington that you even mentioned the cab was taken from Train Sim.I still haven't forgot the trouble I got in when I was about to host "your" HST cab as an upgrade, and found a major MSTS payware developer on my back threatening me for using their cab in a free BVE release! Will you ever learn mate? The above is in no way intended to be a flame, but hopefully constructive advice. If you are going to build trains for a freeware product, you need to be totally honest about what material you are going to use, and indeed be honest about who you are.
Cheers

If you want a MORE realistic cab, get the FREE MSTS Eurostar cab which is from a photo instead of using the non-accurate hand drawn one from the payware stuff.

I take it as advice Steve, no worries about that
The thing with the credit, I just wanted it to be a sort-of suprise picture, but i have, and would include permissions, just if i know someone is interested about it.
I also do admit that i was wrong about the HST, and didnt realise that you had that much trouble with it.I have also been as honest as i can be with the Night Cabs and 153, Voyager Passenger View, and the WIP Pack I have produced.
Over the years i have made mistakes, but i have also asked worth-while questions.
And if you will look at the site above Phil, it's already being made
