To let our newcomers and curious members know, Mr. Mackoy, the creator of BVE, is working on v3 of BVE. He did release a beta version for a short time, so others could test it, and it was successful. To answer the questions:
1. The BVE beta is OVER. You can no longer download the beta version from Mr. Mackoy's web site.
2. No one knows when Bve v3 will be released.
3. Be patient! Mr. Mackoy has always managed to surprise us.
4. If you absolutely must have the beta, and manage to obtain it from someone, remember that it is BETA software. It is much riskier than final release software! The beta has done bad things to some people's existing BVE data. By installing the beta, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

RE: BVE Beta Information

I ran BVE 2.9 beta on my old computer with low frame rates, but when my motherboard packed up I bought a new computer and transferred all my BVE files to the new one. Without thinking about the Microsoft Net stuff that I had downloaded on the old machine I ran BVE 2.9 beautifully, frame rates 30 fps! It seems that the most recent versions of Windows XP have the Microsoft net stuff as part of the operating system
