I'm talking about Topic #6320 in the Locomotive Design Forum,(Silverliner IV's Septa) I know this is the Screen Shot Forum, but I was asking Kev being as though he's the man with the inside scoop on these things from what I've seen. I hope this was enough info for you

RE: A little NEC

I do not know the status of it. The folks at NALW were kind enough to let me have a beta of it to play with and post some screens of it. It is very nice and I am sure that when the final product is released that it will be well worth the dl time. Kevin Arceneaux

RE: A little NEC

Same goes for a project that I'm involved in (small hint: LIRR and MNRR). I have a, well, let's say, Alpha, of the model and initial skins, but it isn't finished yet. The author was kind enough to share his work with me so I could contribute my knowledge of the model's real life physics and cab details (NALW is doin' the cab, which is why I brought this up in the first place).Stuart D. We'll just pretend Amtrak ran out of Amfleets for the day so they had to put some Horizons there istead! One day, i'll actually finish the interior and passenger view and get these cars out! Nice shots, I'm happy that all the rolling stock is finally coming together on the NEC, now just getting those Silverliners IV"'s will be great, but one release at a time like to get the AEM7's both schemes.

Anyway, yes, kudos to you, Buzz, and the rest of NALW for this WONDERFUL (Well, what will be wonderful... =P) addition to the slowly-growing Amtrak NEC equipment collection. (Now if only Alex Stroshane had his Amfleets, mainly the phases VI and IV with its countless variants, all done and peachy...)

RE: A little NEC

Yep, the pantos are new. They are the retro-fitted ones, but 905 and 919 will still have the older ones.
As for release info, you'll have to talk to Chuck about that. He packs it all! Hehe...------ BUZZ ------

Thanks!!Yeah, i guess you'd call them Beta v2.0...Just rolled off the "assembly line" within the last week or two. I'm still poking and prodding over the models, picking up and correcting a couple of small glitches here and there, and adding some odds and ends to the textures. The "final stuff", so to speak!------ BUZZ ------

We have/had a "new amfleet" project running parallel for simultaneous release...
But put it in abeyance when we saw how far along Alex was with his and how good they looked....
If there will be a long delay with Alex's maybe we will dust off ours...
It kind of offends us to run Kuju junque (You know Bad Physics, Lousy Textures, inaccurate colors, wrong scale ad naseum) behind our equipment....Chuck Schneider

RE: A little NEC

I like the AEM-7's. I can't wait, especially for the SEPTA one!! I hope the Comet Cars for SEPTA are done soon. Can I beta test them? I've been waiting for AEM-7's to come out for a while. I don't know why so many were afraid to do them. I'd love first cracks at the AEM-7's. E-60's rarely venture south of Philadelphia on the NEC. Plus, 620 recently recieved the scrapper's torch in Wilmington. The E-60's mainly pull trains 19/20, 40/41, 89/90, 91/92, and 97/98 between New York and Philly. Diesels aren't allowed in the Hudson River tubes. The switch to diesel locomotives for southbounds (19, 41, 89, 91, 97) is at Philly. Train 97 might continue electric to Washington from time-to-time though. The maintenance facilities in Philly are better than those in Washington. Trains 20, 40, 90, 92, and 98 switch to electric at Philly, though 98 may switch at Washington. The NE Direct trains that continue to Richmond and Newport News, VA switch locomotives in Washington. 40 and 41 are the Three Rivers trains, BTW, which operate to Chicago via Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.
