Its 1922. While the rest of the train waits on the northbound main, London and Port Stanley ( Ontario Canada ) boxcab electric L1 spots two coal loads at Edison Phonograph in St. Thomas. (The L&PS is a route I have under construction in my spare time with no timetable for release. You can follow my progress at L&PS)
Whew!! NICE modeling. Your new boxcab turned out superb. LOVE your texturing on it, too. You have gotten so good at 3D modeling it's amazing.Raildate Tip: You may want to cut/paste over the Consolidated Stencils on the hopper sides. Those ugly things didn't start appearing until the early 1970's.Also, on any future downloads, watch out for rolling stock with U1 Wheel Stencil dots. Those didn't start appearing until late 70's. Likewise ACI labels: 1968.Much of the download stuff has the above on them. In 1922 things were still quite "pure". Andre Ming
Thanks to all for the kind encouragement. And Andre thanks also for the suggestions on period accuracy. If this were HO, it would be a huge problem to fix the stencils on all those hoppers ... but through the magic of MSTS less than a 5 minute job - including taking the new photographs.Thanks.Wayne L&PSBTW, the hoppers are by Brian Piotrowski with textures adapted from the EL textures made by Teemu Saukkonen. The locomotive is one that I have made for the L&PS route.
Oh man! That shot shows the excellent texture job on your switch motor even better.HOW are you getting such realism in your textures? Did you hand paint that, or were you able to find a photo texture as a base? That texture on that motor looks SO natural and realistic. I HOPE I can "someday" get that look for my KC&G diesels.Andre
Wayne,no need to tell you how perfect that work is. Guys, did you notice what job this man has just done on the catenary (overhead wire). That's not the default one - that is "hand-spun", so to say. We've got to love it, now that someone finally is doing this effort. It means: You can have different wires for mainline and sidings - or wires for your Interurban, but no wire over steam / diesel mainline tracks in the same route. For the other routes in MSTS still to display their default "ugly-as-hell" overhead lines, "display wires" must remain checked in MSTS general options, so I guess the default wire height in L&PS is set to somewhere high up in the sky, or 100 yards below the ground, or whatever Congrats and cheers, Wayne, just for daring to pull this amazing stunt. Otherwise: Looking at the screens on your homepage -Unbelievable. Gotta look for my eyes now, they must be somewhere in the basement, after they just popped out...Lukas a.k.a Swissie
