TA, maybe, I dunno if NALW is capable of that kinda work.
Hee-hee, actually that was taken at the Oak Park (near west Chicago suburb) Metra station while I was waiting for the commuter. That used to be the Chicago & NorthWestern Galena Division, now the UP West line. When I was a kid there was a 5 track main there, in the mid 60's the C&NW sold (or leased, forget which) the two south tracks to the Chicago Transit Authority, prior to 1964 the Lake Street EL used to run on the ground thru Oak Park. Now there's 3 tracks for Metra commuters and UP freights, and 2 tracks for the EL.Union Pacific / Southern Pacific – image 12
View from my back porch, about 100 yards west of the S-curve where the Lake St. EL joins the UP west line.
When my son and I go to do serious trainwatching we generally go about 6 miles west of here to where all the real action is, Mannhiem overpass across the Proviso yards in Melrose Park, Ill. (another Chicago suburb).Union Pacific / Southern Pacific – image 13

Union Pacific / Southern Pacific – image 15Good place to spot fallen flags, the UP uses old C&NW equipment for yard switching & way freights, hasn't repainted most of them yet.Union Pacific / Southern Pacific – image 16

It's strange how it seems that black and white photos are better than color! UP Train ZNSLC, hauling intermodal that was delivered to the UP yard in Memphis by the NS, now is speeding on the UP to L.A in West Texas.
