Just a few ancient photographs for contrast after all these great diesel shots. A trio of Winans 0-8-0 "camel" types works a coal load on the Ohio Rail System during shakedown runs.

The three locomotives have to work hard to pull this short train. These 50 ton hoppers hold nearly three times the load of the "Agony Eastern" iron pot hoppers. As it's October in 1859 railroad technology on the AllEast is only in it's second decade.
"Lehigh", the latest acquisition from the Winans & Gillingham works in Baltimore, Maryland. Most Winans engines are refitted upon delivery to the AllEast Altoona Shops. Winans is known for his drab functional finishes and the shop superintendent has other ideas of how a locomotive should look. Still under development, "Lehigh" and her sister "Tuscarora" recieve the new paint scheme inspired by GM&O passenger cars being refitted in the Hollidaysburg car shops. The third camel, an older Lehigh & Atlantic steamer built in 1854 will eventually recieve the L&A green livery.
