Still some more to do, but moving right along.
Mr. Ellison will need to attack the light situation on it too.Edit: note the hand rail is not black yet.DRGW – image 1DRGW – image 2DRGW – image 3Paul Fowler

First off, great GP30 model! If I can add some helpful insight:
I believe you need to go darker on the sides. It looks too grey to me. Use the color you have around the cab window.
Also, the flying "Rio Grande" logo on the front should be just a bit lower. Its great to see some more Rio Grande stuff coming out.

RE: DRGW

Actually, the dark cab is a mapping problem I've never gotten rid of on this model. The sides are the pre-weathered black. If your interested in a new looking model..we can look at that.And..the road name on the front is not too high..the mars light is too big. I've not finished it yet.As I've said..still a few things to work on.I blame myself for posting un-finished models...won't do that again I guess.Paul Fowler

RE: DRGW

Awesome looking, I'm a DRGW nut, two things:DRGW – image 11I thought it looked different, its the orange stripe on the bottom thats missingAlso, as much as I like the big speed lettering, it might be easier for you, and somewhat cleaner, to have the small lettering. I don't believe the large lettering was common on the GP30's.

You also have too many stripes on the nose. Looking at the photo of 3001, you can see that there are 6 barricade stripes on each side of the nose. I count 9 on your model. Also the strpes do not wrap around on the side of your model's nose correctly.Other than that it looks fairly good...

I think you've got a movie star there, IIRC 3001 was Sierra Pacfic 3001 in the early 70's ABC movie Runaway.Gary S

>Hey Erik..hows Uncle Pete treating you? Ah well...... I am getting out on my rest (every 8 or 10 hours) and basically not having any time at home, but I do seem to have alot of time sitting in a hotel in Fresno or Oakland, or sometimes Dunsmuir.
Picked up a laptop the other day so I can keep in touch and do some work while I sit in the hotel room.Regards,

Paul...they are looking good indeed!! How about some TP&W GP30's?? May I make a suggestion...the ACE file you have for the windsheild wipers...double the size, and that *should* reduce the jaggardness if thats what you need help with.Other than that...they are looking mighty fine indeed!!>Mike Forster<
