>GE all the way!!!!!!!! Yet thers an EMD in your sig I gotta go EMD with this one. You know that the SD40 and the SD40-2 alone sold more than the entire U-Boat series. Gotta tell you something there... -Dave

RE: EMD vs GE Let's get it on!!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-14-04 AT 09:21 PM (EST)

I vote for the GE to win (that's the Conrail loco, right? (because it reminds me of the Conrail Indy route) Or is it the Burlington Northern train that's the GE? ... Or is it the "EMD" thingy?...what is an "EMD" anyway?)I can't tell 1 train from another! I don't know what a C-36 is or anything, lol.
Forgive me. I love trains but I really don't care what they look like(I guess this makes me a moron, fine, I don't care).I am used to seeing CSX trains here (since I live close to Louisville. I think the K&I RR or something). But I can't really tell what they look like.-BeaverMon, AKA Ben-

RE: EMD vs GE Let's get it on!!

Back when EMD's had turbo charged 2 cycle diesel engines, they'd win hands down. Nowadays since EMDs and GEs are just rolling mufflers, Jimi would miss the train entirely because he sure as hell couldn't hear it coming... EMD vs GE Let's get it on! – image 45

Alrighty then,I am a EMD&GE kinda guy.I don't favor one over the other,i like em' both.I'm kinda more "image"minded,as far as what pleases my eyes, expecially who's paint scheme their wearin'...now if their is ever a post for the ugliest loco manufacturer,my vote would be for the "Trainmaster"series loco's Don Shriner(formely sd80mac)1,764 posts and counting.

EMD!!
EMD has the best locos. The F series, GP38, SD40, FP45/F45, SD70M. Look around and you see more EMD than GE.

This is why GM will always be better than GE.http://sgair.net/erick/EMD_NONTURBO.wavYou'll never hear a GE unit that sounds like that.
