I am in the process of running A UP mountian Steam engine and Freight consist over the pass. its a moderate consist mixed freight with no helpers. I have made it from Klamath Falls Yard to the BNSF Interchange at Chemault thus far.... Running seems good and I have been able to run at Track speed most of the time.Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 1Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 2Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 3Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 4Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 5Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 6Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 7Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 8The final shot showing my train running past the BNSF Interchange at Chemault. After the Interchange starts the climb up to the Summit which is the second hardest part of the trip. I always feel that with Steam the hardest part is running downhill where the train wants to push the train to a high speed and a runaway train is aways a heavy possability.

RE: Steam Run over Cascades Part one.

I will try to finish the run today... The Run from Klamath Falls seems to be the easer way to go with Steam. I was amazed that I was running at near 80 mph in some areas and at the last shot I was at 60 mph. There is a Climb out of Klamath but its not near as steep as I thought it was going to be.

RE: Steam Run over Cascades Part one.

I know what the engine is, I don't care about the cars. What the hell is your problem? What do you mean where have we been? I'm sorry but it just so happens I don't like diesels, or atleast the ones they model and therefore I don't care to check Maple Leaf Tracks website. Kevin Bush,

RE: Steam Run over Cascades Part one.

Nope...I already took it. It's true...I actually don't like Dash 9's or whatever they are. I like old SW's and old Steeple cabs and stuff like that. Or GP-9's but other than those early ones...no thanks.I heard that the controls in some diesels now show a rabbit and a turtle for the throttle. My source for that is an engineer...so don't try and tell me I don't know what i'm talking about. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, a rabbit and a turtle...remote controling them in the yards...come on. A man by the name of Ed Small who I think is still alive, and is about 101 years old or more, was a engineer on the UP for more than 50 years. Starting in the 20's. I have met him in person, and he also is in Last of the Giants 3 that Pentrex put out. In that tape, he states, "I am part of the old school I guess, and to me, when the diesels came around, we lost all romance and glory in railroading, and we became glorified streetcar operators". Now, I was BORN in '87, but I think the same way that man does. Steam railroading does have alot of glory and romance, but unfortunately today, theres also alot of politics envolved too. I still pursue steam though. On the weekends, I run 30" gauge steam with my dad. I have applied for a job with the Cumbres & Toltec on the D&RGW Narrow Gauge also and want to make a career of it, I don't care where I live, I just want to be in that cab, waving at the pretty girls...on and on...I can see why you guys like diesels, sure, but I hope that you all can find some interest in steam someday, before it's all gone. Thanks,

I too am a Fan of Steam and always will be. I came to Train sim wanting nothing to do with the Diesels but you see from alot of my reskins and Screenshots that I have changed my mind. I still run the steam here as I find it a more challenging expirance. But rail roading in general is my interest now. The fact is that most people here dont eather know how to model steam or dont have the interest in doing so. Sad as it seems that more steam hasnt been added to the sim.
I am trying to Get TA to answer my question at there forum but they dont seem interested in Train sim anymore. I was kinda hoping that they would finish up on there engines that they were working on.
It would be nice to be able to run the Daylight Special on this route.Steam Run over Cascades Part one – image 22Don Pottorff

I'd totally agree. Was a TA Club member, waiting for it. Seems now it will never come. What a shame, if you ask me. Was a beatiful loco. Lots of class. Maybe you should try again, along with some others, to see if they will agree to release it.Chris
