I've always been a fan of eastern coal roads. So the other night I dl'd J. H. Sullivan's Blue Ridge Sub.. Well I have to say I was a bit dissapointed with the lack of scenery. I figured that J.H. Sullivan's knowledge of the territory was top notch so I thought why not add some trees and other things. First I will get a better working knowledge of some aspects of route building and I would when finished have another eastern coal road. Here is what I have after doing a small section down around Spruce Pine.
I think it was clearly mentioned in the read me, and / or the Route Specs. forum that the route was not complete with scenery, still somehow it remains a favorite of mine, although I have not run it in at least a year. Your approach to touching up the route looks good BTW.Chris Bogley Syracuse New Yorkwww.msnusers.com/cnytrains www.msnusers.com/ashleyphotography

RE: Blue Ridge Sub
Yea I really like that. If your looking for more Scenisized route for eastern CSX coal, try the Kingsport sub by J.H. also. I really like that one. but it may take you a while to figure out that maze of tracks there. And the copper creek viaduct...-Dave
Njineer are you sure that the route has trees like that.I'm not familiar with that area either but if there is something that you know that Mr Sullivan doesn't please share it with us.Claude Debnam NS Piedmont Division Raleigh East
I have both of his releases for CSX Blue Ridge Sub and Kingsport. And since I am a resident of the area. Peppers Creek to be exact! I think that Mr J. H. Sullivan did one heck of a job on the route. Yeah there is little things that can be added. He also may be working on a revised version. The only thing I saw that can be fixed, was lower pine tunnel which does not have a curve in it. It actully is a strait away of 3 tunnels. But besides that like I said. J. H. Sullivan did a wonderful job and I am looking foward to more of his releases. Oh and also how did I catch 493 twice. He had 15 minutes still to the top (lol).
