Down with Conrail ! Here's some shots of Con-Indy in 1962. A New York Central passenger westbound for Indianapolis passing thru Marion, Ohio. A E-L local is taking the hole before heading to Akron, Ohio.Marion was served by NYC, E-L, Norfolk and Western, and C&O back in the day.I did a little bit of research and got a map of Conrail predecessors from Trains magazine and an altas of American railroads.I can post companies that criss-cross or interchange with this route in my next post. There are many. Indy itself was once served by 7 railroads.Thanx for this excellent route.-ChristianP.S. Sorry for only posting once a month.

RE: How about some PRE-CONRAIL shots on Con-Indy Route
I tried to do the (wstf80) deal and use the new 3 connection just west of CP230 in Muncie, wouldn't let me go past Elliott St on the Frankfort District. Nice shots of Muncie with the NKP's chompin across the diamond. Not good with the clear though!haha
RE: How about some PRE-CONRAIL shots on Con-Indy Route

For example you could have L&N locos in Indy or tons of Virginia coal bustling through Marion. This is an excellent line for these prototypic operations.-Christian
