Yes, the MILW lives. I'll dig up/make new pics this evening. Todd and I have a killer F7 ABBA(if I do say so myself )in the as-delivered gray. I REALLY need a DL-109......(in HO and MSTS)
The routes aren't exactly where the Milwaukee roamed but the Central Wisconsin route in photo 1 sets the Wisconsin background for the Milwaukee and Marias Pass sets more of a Lines West background. Enjoy. Frank S.Pic # 1: A late afternoon Milwaukee Road "Sprint" train highballs through Lodi, Wi. on a warm July day in 1984.Pics #2 and #3: A local powered by SDL39 #581 takes a local around the curves just west of Essex, Montana on a spring day in 1978.
Here's some grabs off the La Crosse Division, 1st sub/Milwaukee Terminal; The grey F's are at Grand Ave interlocking where the line to Green Bay and the Upper Peninsula diverged from the La Crosse Division main. The second shot of the F's is approaching Grand. In the background is the future location of the famous West Milwaukee Shops. The third shot shows some SDL's pulling a westbound out of the West Yard at Muskego (Milwaukee)Fourth shot shows the same train coming off 2 lead approaching the Cut Off.And the last shot shows the same train at the Cut Off. The tracks curving to the left are the passenger mains going to Everatt St. depot in downtown Milwaukee.
Here's the Business Car "Milwaukee" as she appeared in the 1980's. I'm gonna do a yellow and grey too. Just waiting to hear back from NALW. Incidentally, I got my HO DL-109 yesterday. Wow. A shade under 2LB's, oughta pull out a wall!
