I spent a few days railfanning here in the late '80s. Did a little virtual railfanning over the weekend. It's a real kick to see recognizable places in the sim...

RE: Sandpatch Revisited

I was there last year. Right where your train is at in the second shot is a 4 lane freeway of sorts carrying US 219 around Meyersdale Pa. It actually goes over top of the grade crossing which makes for a nice place to set up in the shade on a hot day.Chris Bogley

RE: Sandpatch Revisited

If that is the one west of the tunnel, I believe so, but didn't actually see it.The long brisge over the valley is still there, as is the small old wooden trestle over the tracks just east of there, in fact me and my guide, Tom Biery, stood on the bridge photographing for about an hour or so. It was incredible to be able to see the amazing detail that MLT put into this route and closly it matches up with the real world version.Chris Bogley

RE: Sandpatch Revisited

Salisbury Viaduct is the long one, visible in the first screen shot in this thread. The one east of Meyersdale is Keystone (visible in your second shot.) Your third shot looked vaguely familiar... Tim Baldwin

>It appears Dekosoft, but I've never seen it. The units in the first two photos in the thread are both Dekosoft gp35s - I believe they were both part of the gp35 pack. there are also a few B&O and C&O repaints of Dekosoft geeps by dadbill in the file library...Tim Baldwin
