LOVE the shot. And ESPECIALLY like that corner grocery store. Is that corner grocery store some of your own work, or did you find that somewhere "out there"?Are the signs part of the texture or added onto it as seperate shapes?Andre Ming

Hi Andre,The Corner Grocery/ Soda Fountain is one of my projects. It is based on an actual building that once stood in East Portland, Oregon. The signs are separate polys and most have their own texture sheet. It is definately a foreground model.
As a side-note, and I don't know if this has been touched upon anywhere else, but I found a way to keep the background colors from bleeding through at a distance. That Coca-Cola sign on the front down by the ground is a separate flat poly placed a few inches away from the wall. At 10 or so meters away, the green color of the building would bleed through and destroy the effect. So what I did to fix that, is copy the coke sign texture onto the wall texture directly behind the sign, as close to the same size I could get it. It does bleed still, but it's bleeding an almost exact copy of the sign, so it doesn't detract as bad. Why not just paint it on the building and call it good? - some might ask. Well, by doing it that way, you loose definition, and the sign becomes blurry and looks bad. The texture on the sign is taken from a large graphic from an actual old sign, as were all the signs. The "Eatum-Rite" apples sign is from an old produce-box lable. Below is a color view of the same building. This will be available for uploading hopefully soon as I get some siding detail and a better brick texture.Cheers!Tim
