RE: The haunted railyard ...

Yepper ... Ghost Recon with the Desert Seige addon. I don't have the Island Thunder addon yet, but I'm hoping to get it from Santa. Ray

RE: The haunted railyard ...

Heh. you want to see a killer train? (other than in Trainz or Train sim?)There's a game which came out a while ago set in ww2 (pre MOHAA) whose name slips my mind currently. It was similar to Commandos, but first or third person view. The first level had you trying to cross a river without being detected. Sounds easy right? problem is you have to cross an active railbridge. I forget how many times I got run down by a perfectly detailed german train. More than once I found myself staring at it going "WoW, that thing is detailed. Wait..it's close Crap where can I (SPLAT) hide?"
The details on that train would blow you away.Later, you had a mission in a freight yard where you had to disable some locomotives and screw up the shunting of an armoured train. At least that was the plan. Blowing up those highly detailed engines always bothered me but when I saw that armoured train come tearing through, running the gauntlet as bombers leveled the yards...well It's amazing to watch. Nothing better really. The next mission had you chasing the train down after it derailed.I really can't remember what game this was. I think perhaps it was along the "spec Ops" series.
