RE: Sumpter Valley Ry. Scenes........

Well, Tryagin, I think you really hit it this time.
This is a must-have. Where does the line-up start ?
The bus looks good too. Is she happy now to have a home ?
Super good work.
Ted

Amazing! Gotta love it! p.s. i just thought of something. In regards to those donkey engine, maybe it would be possible to add a 'flickering firebox' like alot of people do on their loco's?
definatly gonna download and keep this one

Thanks,
Jim

Very Nice work! I can't wait until it is complete. Could you maybe give us a status report, like how much you have completed in %? Also, could you give us a possible release date? Thanks & keep up the good work!

Josh,Steve's just about got it ready to send out to the testers. He told me on the phone yesterday, that he hopes to get the route out by early next January. So, percentage wise, it's in the high 90's.Thanks for the positive remarks all!Timtimmuir@wcn.net

Yessir. Like next month. Barring unseen glitches that testers might find that will need fixed. The route will be sent to the testers once finished in Route-Riter and checked. Like all things, expect the unexpected. It's worth the wait.Oh, and about the flickering firebox, we haven't found a way to do that on scenery items, but the (smaller donkey) engine is animated. The rod does move. And Steve's got the sounds of the engine working, plus the donkey whistle signals going. It's great to just sit up there listening to the sounds going.

Tim,
Good to hear from you. I am going to love sitting up their listing to those donkey engines. But what are donkey whistle signals for? Also, at one point were you not planning on animating the logs having them move up and down on the cables? I cant wait for this addon. I cant wait to drive Jon's Eureka on this route either.

Thanks,
Jim

RE: Sumpter Valley Ry. Scenes........

Jim,
The whistles were signals to the choker-setters out in the woods, when ready to yard in the leads, etc. I'm not too edjumicated on it, but Steve could tell you more. We went as far as building the Log "engine" complete with chokers and pulley to go on the ovehead cable. It consisted of 2 logs suspended from the cable at about 45dgs. But we never got any farther with it due to the complexity of the cable set-up, and keeping it syncronized. We also have a log "engine" that's supposed to be dragged along a gound lead. That needs to be developed further too. We have too many ideas, and not enough time! Jon's Eureka is a FINE locomotive! I like to sit outside and look at it before I go anywhere with it.The SVRy is 30 miles from Baker City to Sumpter. From S-Wye Jct to Whitney on the branch over the Larch Summit is about 13 miles. I don't know how many miles the logging branches add to that. Yet. Steve added mileposts this last weekend. I'm expecting an updated CD next week.Timtimmuir@wcn.net

Do you think that you would get those animated logs to work in an update or is the whole idea just dumped. Also do you know anything about when jon plans to release Eureka?

Thanks,
Jim
