Those shots aree not that great. They have too many obstructions. Also going away shots are not great.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there, Monkey. Take this shot for instance: A few hours of railfanning by my hometown – image 21Notice the red marker lights; that commuter train is going in push mode, away from the camera. And this one:A few hours of railfanning by my hometown – image 22That train in the foreground is going away, but if I had not shot it that way, you wouldn't have the meet you see there. Going away shots can be great, if executed properly. And Kyle, those shots are pretty neat pictures, especially that first one - the little engines with the big mountains is very neat (as are those Gevos a couple posts up ).-- Mike Karlik --

Thanks for the comments Mike and nice shots. I did screw up the going away shot a bit however, but my main goal was to get a shot of the SD40-2. Wish more trains would run through here, we only got two (including that one) through here during daylight.-----------------------------A few hours of railfanning by my hometown – image 24

What a difference a day makes. When those other shots of mine were taken yesterday, when it was in the mid 50's and sunny. Today it was cold and snowing as Olean local H16 takes eight cars to the controlled siding at Eldred, PA (5 mi. south of here). Tommorow's wayfreight will pick them up. These were taken at the same place as yesterday shots, but on the other side of the tracks. >Oh No! Shadow Side Pics are not good. That's not a good
>picture. Sorry. The image quality is 55-100. I had to reduce the quality so the size would be smaller.

I didn't say anything about the resolution.I said the Picture was taken on the shadow side of the engine. Which, if you are picky, makes the shot automatically bad. Let's add this to your list! - Shadow Side Pictures
- Going Away Pictures
- Bad Resolution
- ObstructionsAnd while some of this is true, if you can't do better, shut your mouth!

>Hey Monkey, if you can do better, lets see some of your

And some are okay! I don't mean to flame or offend anyone.
