Cabshot Question – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-03 AT 08:39 PM (EST)

I was invited into the cab of a locomotive recently, but I don't want anything outside of the windshield to show to prevent the crew from getting in trouble. How can I remove the windows, replace them with something from train simulator, and u/l the pic? Is it possible to do this?

RE: Cabshot Question

Maybe you should just copy and paste windows from MSTS or from another loco.-MattATSF GP60M #104 works on the local in Flagstaff, AZ.

RE: Cabshot Question

Lol...why does everyone bash MSPaint? Its not a terrible program....ok so its not as advanced as some of the others out there...but my entire Illinois Northern fleet has been done in paint, and while they dont have the weathering and what not I'd like, I think they look pretty good and havent heard anyone complain. Granted they are pretty simple lol!
MSPaint is indeed extremely limited but oh well...its all some of us have.Enjoy,

Kevin V.

Really, it is good. All of my stuff is done under MSpaint including a PC SD40-2 repaint and the cab for it. (Sorry, I can't upload it)

I'm trying to do both, but the main reason was to hide identity. Thanks for the suggestion.

Since you're using MSTS Paint, first colour the window with any colour, that is not found inside the cab, like green, 0,0,255.
Save it, assume "a.bmp".
Take a screenshot with MSTS in the Shift+1 view.
Now, go to "a.bmp", Press Ctrl+A(select all), then Ctrl+C(Copy)
Go to your screenshot you have taken in MSTS. Press Ctrl+V(Paste).
Do not unselect the box yet. Make the background colour, in this example, 0,0,255, by right mouse clicking on the green colour on the pallete at the bottom.
Then you select the transparent option under the tool bar on the right.
Then now, you can unselect the picture.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

Her;s another great idea that's worked well for someone.
Take black paint in an art editing program such as Photoshop and black out the numbers.just like Mr. ATF saysHave you ever thought of doing that before you ask pointless questions?
Might work for some people.Unless you really don't know yourself

We can tell.
Oh, I also took the liberty of doing something that it's obviously taken you several hours to do in the past 5 seconds, as an example. Notice the little black bars covering up the loco number? I also added you into the picture.Cabshot Question – image 19-Yeah, that's right! The Raider Marching Pride!!! -You can never have too much inner beauty. Or socks.

There are no loco numbers in the pic. Does this mean I don't have to edit it? And I might post a picture of me in the cab or at the training center. (The one the Depot got from WC)

Gee, I wonder where you got that one from NOW, you know I HAVE to add to this.Robert where do you live? Regardless, If you post your pictures, I doubt UP/BNSF persons come in here looking for their employees letting children on their trains. And did you not say that you had proper permission anyway?
