It's been a while since I posted any new info so here's a few screenshots to whet your appetite until I can post a proper update in the Route Design forum.Westbound NKP #7 departing Union Terminal.A pair of P-motors idling (do electric motors idle?) at Linndale.Westbound freight on the NKP at Cloggsville. The truss bridge originally spanned the Big Four tracks which were moved about 100 meters east during CUT construction. The empty right-of-way was to be used by the Lake Shore Electric interurban, but by the time it was ready the LSE was far too broke to relocate off of Detroit Avenue so the grade (and the platforms inside CUT) sat unused for 25 years until the west side rapid transit was built.Looking southeast at the NKP/CUT engine changing tracks at Fulton Road.Just finished the night textures for East Cleveland station. The P-motors were notorious for removing hats from the unwary as they blew by here at 50 mph. This is now the location of the Red Line's Superior station.I have also put up a website about the route: http://www.cloggsville.com/cutSee yaTodd
Looking REAL good. Nice to see you're still working on it.Just visited your new site. Feels like home ... so much looks familiar. Excellent work sir.(and where did you get those Nickel Plate passenger cars?) -- Dave Mikulec (former Charter Member) "the Ohio Southeastern - NKP Project"
>and where did you get >those Nickel Plate passenger cars?Still a work in progress. I have only completed a coach and a baggage car, and I will probably do the rest of Damon Swanson's cars in NKP colors when I get a chance.
I was born and raised in Cleveland and spent quite a bit of time on the Rapid, riding from the station on Brookpark Rd by the airport into downtown. Never got tired of the ride or the railroad scenery. Got to ride the old Shaker Rapid in the late 60s and early 70s as well. Always did like those old PCC type cars. I miss those trips, and those days.
