The entire Poker Bluff area is now 95% finished. Poker Bluffs is a huge curving rock face (higest point is maybe 80' high?) including a couple of cuts. Took a bunch of pics, but had to trim it down to reasonable levels... so I'm only gonna' hit you with three this time. First scene is eastbound toward Beaver. Second scene is westbound leaving Beaver.Third view is simply an over veiw looking west after leaving Beaver.Need to finish this area and get on to the next one. In all though, this has been fun to watch it happen in RE as I built it.Andre Ming

Well thank you kind sirs for the gratifying comments. Me thinks hours spent in RE can result in moderate mental derangement... and it helps to know I'm not going crazy without people enjoying what's causing me to go daffy!Dave M sigged:"the Ohio Southeastern - NKP Project"NKP Project? >NKP Project? Tell me more! If you recall, my Ohio Southeastern is based on the Nickel Plate Road in northwestern Ohio. What I've decided to do is follow the prototype as much as possible using some track charts I have on hand along with several on-line resources. It's still freelanced in that I'll be blending some contemporary industries found on the line today with the older ag based businesses that flourished in the late 50's and early 60s (i love elevators and feed mills).Freelanced but recognizable ... I hope. At any rate, the route has been extended into Fort Wayne (when I get tracks there) to the West and Bellevue to the East.I've got tracks down as far west as New Haven,IN where the Wabash comes in. Now I've got to do a little research to see what the connection there looks/looked like as I don't have any track charts for that area.On the east end, tracks end at Continental. Hope to start working eastward to Fostoria over the long holiday weekend.--

LAST EDITED ON Nov-23-03 AT 03:19 PM (EST)

Thanks much for the good words.Photo textures add a very different element to MSTS. Though it would be great if the idea was my own, I would like to give credit where credit is due:Some time ago, a very prolific and generous simmer began to notice that some engines and rolling stock models were beginning to appear on the MSTS scene that were using the "wallpapered" (photo texture) technique. When those items were placed in the sim on a typical route of the day, the engines/rollingstock looked out of place among the many brightly colored hand-painted items being used at the time, as well as sitting beside tiny, undersized structures. He wondered "what if an entire ROUTE was built upon photo textures AND the concept of all things being IN SCALE?"Ever the trend setter, he did just that, and Canton is the first result. Yup, thanks goes to Rich Garber for pioneering this concept into a complete route. He blazed the trail that I'm following.Andre Ming
