RE: Mood

A great presentation with good lighting and that 'mood' thingee, a sort of solitary ambience as man cuts his way through nature. 4 stars from my thought or 5 stars if the overhead power wasn't there, but great anyway!

RE: Mood

Yeah, they had overhead wires back in the age of steam. I don't remember exactly when it was first used, but Mark Twain was still alive. He once defined electricity;
"Moves a street car faster than a gas lamp, and gives off more light than a horse." Obviously he was unimpressed with early electrical power!Bill, "Hey Jim, where'd ya get that track texture from the first pic???"Same as from the second pic, 3Dtracks.zip in the file library, also the track texture for PO&N6. Looks different depending on the lighting angle, that one was close to sunset.Mood – image 143DTrains Super Chief in the morning sunshine.Mood – image 15"High Noon" in the desert, Gary Cooper is hiding behind the station. In keeping with the melancholy mood of the thread, how about a little Autumn rain?Mood – image 16Mood – image 17

RE: Mood

Mark Twain also said: "Thunder is good. Thunder is impressive. But it is lightning that does all the work!"Mood – image 18Overhead transmission of electric energy for railroads has been around since the 1880's. It's not new by any means. The height of the street and interurban railway era was 1912, and slowly decreased to almost entirely gone by the 50's in most parts of the country. Until the 1990's, when major cities in the US decided that mass transit by electric traction (what is now known as "light rail") was beneficial, we are now seeing a dramatic increase in street railways around the country. Well, anyways, electricity is good energy. Without it you'd just have those carcinogenic Diesels running through mechanical or hydraulic transmissions.....Mood – image 19Cheers!Timtimmuir@wcn.net
