Our Sounder Cars came from Vermont - a Vermont Railway Dispatcher gives me a heads up of when they are being shipped out.

The Perth suburban system is getting some from Queensland. They are built by Walkers, which is under contract by Bombarider. Cool shots everyone! >Mike Forster<

Shots of Bombardier's first ever manufactured train: MR-73 cars that were commissioned into service in time for the '76 Olympics for le Métro de Montréal. They were also designed by the manufacturer. Their only flaw/glitch is that their cars fill up with choking acrid burnt-rubber smoke if the train must whoosh to a sudden/emergency halt going downhill in the tunnels, but I reckon all rubber-tyred trains would too. Their track -- errr, guideway -- record is top notch.Bombarider Pics – image 34Bombarider Pics – image 35Bombarider Pics – image 36Bombarider Pics – image 37Bombarider Pics – image 38Bombarider Pics – image 39Bombarider Pics – image 40Cheers,

Don't you love 'em? Since I was three years old that city's system is still like one big toy to me. It's fun to ride also because folks there tend to like to look at one another -- a flirtatious town brimming with good-looking people.Cheers,

I've got one from my area; I'll try get it up tomorrow. I'll give you a hint: it does not need a locomotive to operate. Another hint is my area.
Edit: Actually, the pic in my sig is Bombardier. R62A cars run on the 1,9, and 7 trains, as well as the 42nd Street Shuttle. This is on the 1/9 at Penn Station.

I believe that VRE is short several cars, so they're borrowing several from Sounder.I was just as shocked last year when in my class trip to DC, when we were going by Union Station, and lo and behold, a complete Sounder Trainset was sitting in the yard.-Yeah, that's right! Yup. The VRE is leasing them for such a short period of time that there's really no need to totally repaint the cars.-- Mike Karlik --

RE: Bombarider Pics

Hmm, it seems like the length of those rush-hour-only commuter trains have been lengthened in the past few years, coz I recall that they used to be only four or five cars long, no? (Although somebody told me recently that the WCE service frequency has been cut.)Cheers,
