Hello,Here is a small report of my trip to Sarajevo, my second home town, for a week.Full picture series can be found here:http://ronaldus.com/asmallworld/sara03/Cleaning benches at Bruck an der Mur

This is the loco for our express train to Sarajevo (and on to the sea at Ploce). The train consists of ZRS (Railways of the Republika Srpska) former DB (DR) coaches and of EU-sponsored coaches of ZFBH (Railways of the Federation Bosnia and Hercegowina).
Soon we got to the border where the first staff- and loco change (actually just logo change ) was carried out. Border controls are only done here
Old ZBH 661 diesel with one coach train at Novi Grad (once Bosanski Novi)
Meeting with train after Banja Luka
ZRS diesel at the once heavily frequented traffic node Doboj
The second change takes place here

Into Bosnia
Arrived punctually at Sarajevo, on platform 2 you can see the night train to Budapest
Next day at Sarajevo:
Tram at one end of the Barscasia, the bazar-like part of the old town. These are not the original trams, only those with pantos on the rear part are. Many things have been financed or presented by other countries or cities, for example the busses by Japan

Dove approaching
"La Grande Armee"
"From Chip to Tramway" (or Desiro)
At the station
"Bosnian WIndows" at a tram stop
The taxi is also a popular mean of transport
Trolleybus from the Nederlands
The trams are operating only in one direction in a circle along the one way streets. This is one leg of the circle along river Miljacka
Where do you want to go?
"Bosnia Express" on the way at the zoo
There are stil many buildings from the Austrian era
View of the city from a restaurant
If there are good weather conditions, army helicopters can often be spotted
Classic view of the library (burned out) with tram
A former station of the Bosnian narrow gauge railways
View at wooden house mosques
In the city center there is a lot of street life going on, like here in front of the economic university
I like this ad
The steep hills of Sarajevo
On the Alifakovac cemetary, the oldest in Sarajevo
Trams at the Miljacka by night
The last trip of the Bosnian narrow gauge railway 1984

There are still these cute 2-axle cars on regional trains
Diesel beasts (GM in the background)
