Conrail Indy Route - Awesome!

This route impresses me more and more as I continue to explore. Very surprised when I went by a security facility (prison) - not 1 but 2 of them. Keeps you busy with the numerous crossings.Awesome job Bruce!!!!Thanks for sharing - Michael

very nice shots. unfortunately, as much as I would love to have the route, my 56K modem makes it highly unlikely. I can only enjoy the good screen shots, and positive comments.compliments to the author

Excellent shots as always Michael! I downloaded it the other day and burned it to disc. That'll be one of the first routes I run when my new rig is built. When was this file released? I didn't see it in the library, even when I searched the Modern Diesel Locomotives under "Chris Denbow".I think I got this file a while back, but all it had were 7314 and 7325, both in YN3.

He updated the pack (& others) to include the CR units:spc44-9w.zip - SP C44-9W's 8175 & 8192 (New units' 8105 & 8136 added to make this a 4-pack now)
csxt7812 - CSX CW40-8 7812 in "The Spirit of America" scheme
csx-8w.zip - CSX CW40-8's 7314 & 7325 in YN3 paint (New units 7305 in Conrail paint and 7387 in Conrail Quality paint, making this a 4-pack now)
csx-8w2.zip - CSX CW40-8's 7728, 7769, 7787 & 7815

That explains why I didn't find it in new files then! I was expecting to see a separate pack of Conrail units at the top of the list.I've got them now. First order of business: rescue those Conrail units from the grasp of CSX and return them to their rightful place on Conrail Indy!Thanks!

My mistake.I'll get out a 4-pack of Conrail units with CR numbers tonight (it'll be easy to add CR numbers and replace the CSX a/c. Maybe I'll do an 8-pack, 4 can openers and 4 Quality's. I'm not even sure if 8 will be enough I can't tell you how thankful I am for these... they were THE most common units on Conrail Indy during the time frame of the route!

Bruce, I actually d/l'ed pics to do 12 units. An LMS, a Quality with LMS number (757), a few can openers and a buncha Quality units. I can always do more. Plus I got some of the Quality units with the smaller logo, and some where the logos are backwards, etc. Sorta a variety coming out.Now, what font is a close match for Conrail's numbers? I think I have one that I have to "mold" and play with alittle bit, but if there's something closer out there, it would make it easier to do these and more Conrail units in the future.Chris Denbow - Baltimore, MD

For the GE-style numbers used on units up to 6149, Century Gothic looks good. Not quite exact, but pretty darn close. The best part about that one is it's a stock Windows font!For units above 6150, LMS units, and repaints done by Conrail, I've found a Futura Bold font to be a pretty close match. However, the "5"s aren't quite right.The biggest problem is that all of the Futura fonts I've found are payware (quite pricey at that). If you can find a sample picture of the font, save the pic and cut out, size, and paste the numbers as necessary.For number boards, use the same font as on the CSX patched units, but make the numbers large enough to fill the whole board.You might get in touch with Pete Willard and see what he suggests as well.
